Villa Hotel

The location is fantastic, the room overlooking the bay is excellent, with a table set with tea bags, sugar, and, a rarity, glasses in sterile paper bags. Dinner was delicious and not overly expensive. Everything seemed fine. But - as long as there is a manager you can talk to who will give instructions to the staff. We couldn't get a second towel. In the evening, we ordered breakfast for 7:30 in the morning so we could leave early. Until 8:00, we couldn't find anyone at either the restaurant or reception. Then we managed to catch some half-asleep guy, I don't even know who he was. We reminded him about breakfast, he ran in, and 15 minutes later, instead of an English breakfast, he brought an undercooked egg, toast, margarine and jam, and half a tangerine. We also ordered one extra coffee, since we were sure coffee was included in the breakfast. But in the end, two coffees were charged separately. I don't mind spending the money, but cheating over trivial details is somehow unsightly and damages the hotel's image. We won't be going again. Although, I repeat, the room and view are excellent.

The best place I stayed in Sri Lanka. Excellent service. Breakfasts served in the room are hot, balanced, and delicious. Wonderful view of the bay!

Budget hotel, has everything you need. The most important thing is air conditioning, hot water, refrigerator. The furniture is quite old. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive. The hotel is located quite far from the famous beaches and the tourist hangout. There is no view from the window, but a beautiful view on the common terrace on the floor.

Good hotel for its price, there is a restaurant with reasonable prices, opposite is a temple on the seashore, old plumbing

There were so many things, but overall, all the staff were very hardworking, kind and good people! First of all, it seems that the reservation for 4 nights that I had made on Trip.com was not made at the time of check-in. There are many staff members, but there are only about two staff members who can communicate in English without any problems, and it was difficult to find them every time lol. I was hurriedly guided to my room, but I couldn't find the air conditioner remote control, and a staff member just brought me a towel (probably the room was hastily provided, so it was not fully prepared?) When I asked for the remote control at that time, they brought it to me relatively quickly. The wi-fi password was handwritten on the phone, but it was faded and I couldn't read it, so I looked for a staff member again and asked lol. I thought there would be hot water, but it was room temperature (it was a little cold at first, but if you try hard to take a shower, it feels like it's getting warmer for some reason, but it was exactly the same temperature lol) and the water pressure was quite weak. I asked the staff, but it seems that the temperature probably can't be changed. I asked them for at least the water pressure, and it improved a little. However, the water pressure was weak again the next night, so I asked them to adjust the water pressure every day for four days before taking a shower. When the staff came to check the water pressure, they stood on the bath mat with their shoes on, and the bath mat turned black because the shoes were wet with water... This happened two days in a row, so we told them that the water pressure had improved and it was okay to check it. It may be a cultural difference, but I guess they don't care about guests' bath mats turning black. The laundry service, free bicycle rental, and currency exchange that were listed on Trip.com (same as ***********) were not available lol The location is nice, right in front of the sea. It's a 10-20 minute walk to the town, but I was so scared of the stray dogs at night (they sleep and relax during the day, but are super active at night...) that I had to use a tuk-tuk every time. The hotel itself is not bad, but the shower was the only thing that bothered me. There were also frequent power outages every day. (It wasn't particularly difficult, but it sometimes took several hours lol) The staff were all really trying to solve the problem and listen to our requests. They were very calm and friendly, and always had a shy smile lol However, their English was quite weak, so it was necessary to be patient and communicate.
