Mannings Hotel ★★★★

📍 82 Lemon St, Truro

"I can't begin to tell you how great the choice of this hotel was. We booked it as was going the the theatre to see the Luther tribute band who were amazing at the Hall for Cornwall. Under a minute from the hotel. There was free parking right in the centre of the town which we managed to arrive early and use this facility. We booked a queen size bed which was huge and very comfortable. The rooms are a tad tired but totally acceptable. The staff in the bar were lovely and accommodating. This went from day and night staff! This is the perfect hotel for shopping in Truro too. Can't wait for our next visit! Fitted in a visit to Truro Cathedral too, truly inspiring! We has a continental breakfast which was acceptable x"

County Arms

County Arms ★★★★

📍 Highertown, Truro

"I've stayed at The County arms several times now. Its perfectly located for exploring pretty much all of Cornwall and of course just a short walk into the city of Truro. It has a large car park and is also very close to the mainline train station. The rooms are spacious and pretty clean with everything you need. The fact that is is also a pub/resturant is vert handy for grabbing a drink and a bite to eat. My only complaint was that the breakfast staff didnt deal with my request for gluten free options very well at all. So I choose not to eat there on my second day of staying."

📍 Rosevine, Portscatho, Truro

"The hotel is situated very close to the beach and not far from Portscatho. This location, along with the facilities on offer, make it an ideal place to stay. The views from the dining room across the bay are quite something and enhance the experience."

Uno in the City - Chic Urban Boutique

Uno in the City - Chic Urban Boutique ★★★

📍 Number 1 Tabernacle Street, Truro

"Apartment is in the centre of Truro close to everything. It has all the comforts you need for your stay. Check in was smooth via automated keypad. Apartment was clean with refillable soap and shampoo (great to avoid plastic). Cooking hob with induction. Comfy mattress and pillows. There is a pub just a few meters down the road and a fish restaurant next door which might come in handy if you are tired after a hike and just want to chill. Train station approx 15-20min walk. The host answers messages very quickly in case you need any help. "

The Alverton ★★★★
"I was really disappointed with our stay at The Alverton and, considering the price, it felt like a complete waste of money. The positives are that the room was clean and the hotel is within easy walking distance of Truro city centre. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The hotel is extremely dated and doesn't feel like the premium experience the price suggests. Many small details are missing that you would expect from a hotel in this price range, such as soft-close toilet seats, a better selection of complimentary toiletries, or even an additional security lock on the room door, actual art work and not framed print outs. The breakfast was underwhelming, with a limited selection. If you wanted extra hot breakfast items, there was an additional charge, which felt very poor value given the already expensive room rate. The biggest disappointment was the service. The staff came across as cold and uninterested. At check-in we were simply handed a room key and told our room number. There was no explanation of breakfast times, where the bar was, what facilities were available, or even a brief mention of the building's history, despite it being one of the hotel's main selling points. It felt like they wanted to get us out of reception as quickly as possible. Overall, the hotel relies heavily on its reputation and historic building, but the experience doesn't justify the premium price. There are far better places to stay for the money. I wouldn't return or recommend it unless prices were significantly lower."

The Rosevine ★★★★
"Not the cheapest overnight stay, but a lovely property in a beautiful, out of the way location. The room (rear facing family suite) was surprisingly large and equipped with a mini kitchen. Overall clean and well-maintained though we struggled to get really hot water in the shower. There were a few other quirks: afternoon tea needs 24h notice; you need to book a time slot to go into the swimming pool; staff seemed a little thin on the ground, particularly in the afternoon around check in. Breakfast was overall good value, though supplies felt a little sparse. On the plus side there were a good number of EV chargers at a very reasonable rate. Staff were friendly and helpful whenever we spoke to them."
