Hotel Indigo Tulsa Dwtn-Entertainment Area

Tulsa|0.61km from city centre
Stayed here one night while passing through Tulsa. The hotel is pretty new and is in a great location; it’s walking distance to plenty of restaurants. There’s also a rooftop bar with a great view of the city. It’s open to the public which is slightly odd. We didn’t know it was Pride so we’re surprised at how busy the city and the hotel were. Checking in wasn’t the best. Despite booking two rooms they put us on different floors. I understand it was a busy night but I know for a fact plenty of other groups were put on the same floor. They did eventually move up to the same floor but only after some negotiation. The rooms themselves were nice and clean. The room with one bed felt much larger and had a seating area. The bathroom was good too with a decent shower. There was a very loud fan in the bathroom that would not turn off which was annoying. Despite the room being nice, everything went downhill from there. There was a large group of people staying on our floor who were divided between at least four rooms. They had clearly been drinking all day and were being very rowdy. From 10pm onwards they kept coming in and out of all their rooms, making an insane amount of noise in the corridor. They were shouting, arguing and taking really loudly. They kept all the doors to their rooms open and were basically treating the hallway as an extension of their rooms. We rang the front desk multiple times to get them to talk to the people but they did nothing helpful. I think they maybe sent someone up at one point but it did nothing. We even tried to reason with them but got nowhere. The hotel staff dealt with the situation very badly. They should never have allowed a group that large into the hotel. Spreading them over an entire floor was always going to be a bad idea. I can’t say I’d recommend this hotel. It doesn’t seem well run despite looking good and being in a nice location.

Hampton Inn and Suites Tulsa Downtown

Tulsa|0.18km from city centre
I hate having to leave a poor review and sound like an angry old man, but I find tall reviews useful when booking hotels for business travel. Unfortunately this property completely missed the mark for me and I will certainly not return or recommend. As a frequent traveler and a Diamond Member at Hilton I have come to expect the typical great customer service and the little things that make business travel easier. Of all the properties I have stayed at, this was easily the most difficult to navigate. While the property is fairly new, and nice, with a great downtown location, logistically it is a disaster. The parking situation is easily the worst I have experienced at any hotel in my years of travel. If you are driving a car, DO NOT STAY here. I prefer hotels with valet, but if no valet, easy in and out parking is definitely expected. There is limited parking spaces available for hotel customers in the outside lot directly next to and behind the hotel, This is a shared lot and not under the ownership of the hotel, they only get a certain number of spaces per night. The lot itself is not clearly marked, so if you park in the wrong spot you will receive a $125 ticket. That will be reduced to $35 if you pay within 15 days. This is obviously a problem and the hotel is well aware of it. There are signs everywhere in the hotel and confusing instructions that I guess you are supposed to memorize. These signs are obviously difficult to comprehend as there were 4-5 other guests the same evening, who, like myself, were confused and received parking tickets. Its apparent they have no real interest in addressing this situation. The even more disappointing part of it is the staff could care less. Speaking with the person at the front desk trying to get clarity she was dismissive, condescending and had zero interest in my concern. She had no problem if we canceled our four rooms and switched hotels. Which I tried, but rooms downtown were at a minimum, so we stuck it out and made it through night 2 with zero issues. If you travel a lot and expect easy access and accommodating service I would steer clear of this property. For those who prefer Hilton, there is a Doubletree property a few blocks away, I would recommend that over this place. My worst Hilton experience in several years as a loyal Hilton customer, thus the one star review. I will certainly not be back.

Aloft Tulsa Downtown

Aloft Tulsa Downtown

Tulsa|0.43km from city centre
There was a prolonged heat dome over Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago and it was no time for a hotel's AC to be having problems, but alas that was the case with the Aloft Tulsa Downtown. Two rooms we were given on the 10th floor had thermostat set to 68 but room temperatures of 79 and 81. Then we got moved to the 3rd floor, which was good the first day but then had the same problem the second day. The afternoon/evening desk person was nice and apologetic each time we came with an issue. Eventually a maintenance guy came up to the room at 10:30 at night and worked on it for a while. He managed to get it to where the temp would top out at 75 or so, which was livable. But it wasn't just a room issue; the whole hotel seemed to be struggling, as corridors were not cool and the desk people were keeping the lobby door open and had a large fan blowing at them. Otherwise, the room was clean and enjoyable, with a high ceiling and plenty of boutique touches similar to other Alofts. One of us didn't like how the bathroom was arranged with a sliding door and no good place to put the bathmat after a shower. The other of us was okay with the layout but didn't like that the middle position of the bathroom faucet gives hot water to drink. There are food items including a variety of items for breakfast on sale in the lobby. There is a pool that guests seemed to be enjoying and an outdoor table area and patio from which we could watch sunsets. The morning desk person had lots of interesting advice for things to see or do in Tulsa or outlying areas. For what it's worth, the Apple Maps app has the wrong idea where the hotel is and will take you to location that does you no good. You need to go to Denver and Fifth, then past the Tulsa County Central Library, and that's where the entrance is. Then once you've found it, there's a gate that has to open for you, both entering and leaving. And if you're just out for a walk, there are different gates for a human to use, which require a code to get back in - be sure to ask the desk person because they don't inform you otherwise. The reason for all that security may be the immediate area, which is not that appealing. Despite being the downtown, there isn't much going on there, even on weekdays. And sadly there is a homeless problem in the area, especially in front of the aforementioned library (which is a great facility if you go inside). About the most normal activity comes in the morning when lawyers and others enter the Tulsa County Courthouse which is opposite the library. Now maybe the area is more active when there is an event at the BOK Arena a couple of blocks away, or a convention is taking place at the Cox Business Center right behind the hotel, but when were there for three days, the area was just not happening (in stark contrast to Bricktown in OKC, where we had been previously).

I told my friends to stay at this hotel because of one reason. Your staff! All of them are fantastic, for starters Ron took us on a tour of the hotel which was very meaningful for my friends, he also picked us up and took us to many restaurants and was awesome! He went above and beyond! Shannon served us at the bar, she is fantastic!!! She is the best bartender who is able to make any drink taste fabulous. Rowena, is GREAT! From the 1st time we stayed at the hotel Roe waited on us and made us feel at home. Also provides superb service! The Best! They are the reason we come back to this hotel for dinner and drinks every Saturday. The chef TShombe is the best in Tulsa!! We love these people! They make your hotel.

From the time I walked in until the time I left, everything was top-notch. A very kind young man by the name of Morgan welcomed me. After glancing around the exceptionally clean lobby area, I said, what a nice hotel! With a look of pride on his face, Morgan said, wait until you see your room! I could tell he was invested in his workplace and he was right about my room. It was exceptionally clean, spacious, and very well appointed. After taking my bags up, I came back down to ask Morgan about a nice quiet place to eat. I explained I had spent the day with a lifelong friend of 70 years who was in a nursing home, under Hospice care, and not expected to live. He displayed genuine concern and compassion that you don’t often see anymore. He was on duty a couple of nights later and asked about my friend. I told him she had passed away that very afternoon. He told me he was so very sorry and asked if there was anything he could do or if I needed anything. I was touched by his sincerity. On another note, the breakfasts were delicious! There was quite a variety of things to choose from and the young lady (Isadora?) in charge of the buffet kept everything supplied well and was very personable while doing so. My stay at your exceptional hotel made the sad reason for my visit to Tulsa much more bearable.

Cracked mirror and window. Ragged edge carpet into bathroom. Some critter (maybe a sparrow) wreaking havoc in the ceiling above the bathroom fan. Dark corridor as bulbs not working in hall outside our room, so that felt creepy. Shower head pipe was loose. Drawers on desk and nightstand kept opening after being closed, giving the sense that everything was off-kilter. Our friends’ room didn’t have a blanket on their bed, just a sheet and the shower curtain-like coverlet, so they bought a couple of throws for their stay. Paint touch-ups in our room of whatever color they had on hand, so oddball blotches hither and yon. Graffiti on our friends’ torn window screen on their little balcony. Front desk workers were kind enough, but they had to go clean instead of working the front desk in the morning, so it really gives the impression of trying to operate a large hotel on a raggedy shoestring. Even though it’s off-season, the outdoor pool looked particularly uninviting and neglected, like they probably never use it, and it’s set in some strange, grungy alcove of the building. Someone is trying to make the front entrance look clean and somewhat grand, but trash strewn around the property and some weird outdoor space that may be an old cemented-in pool (?) just give the overall impression of neglect with little hope in sight.

Waiting for new apartment move-in date, needed a place to stay for a month. All were very friendly and helpful. I stayed the whole month particularly because of Alec. I didn't have to worry about my car. He performed security as I would and I'm an Army vet. All were courteous and friendly. I will return if I need a place to stay.
