First of all the service was beyond bad, it’s as if the staff never communicated with eachother. Upon arrival, we got asked if we were celebrating anything, to which we said yes as it’s our fifth anniversary, and they said they would arrange a surprise for us the next day. We finished our stay without any surprise or acknowledgment as to what had happened, it was just forgotten. They would ask us every day if it was our first time at breakfast, ask about allergies and so on, which on your fifth day at the hotel makes it feel very impersonal. The hotel is also very restrictive in when you can use their amenities, which is laughable when they have no direct beach access. Their pool only opens 11am-6pm, their bikes (which are in horrible shape) can only be hired 9am-6pm…it felt like being at a school camp instead of an alleged 5-star hotel. You are stranded on a street with nothing to do, no signal outside of the hotel, no free beach access and a whopping $40 to get to the town center (which is a 15min drive away). To put the cherry on top, we got called to our room on our last night asking when we would like our bags collected for check-out, they said it was arranged…and it never was. We also never got asked if we had a nice stay upon leaving, nothing. They truly don’t seem to care. Honestly, save yourself the trouble.

Our stay at Shibari Hotel Tulum was nothing short of unforgettable. From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, every single moment exceeded our expectations. The entire staff was absolutely incredible—warm, attentive, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our vacation truly special. Their genuine hospitality made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We want to thank each and every member of the Shibari team for creating such amazing memories that we will cherish forever. We highly recommend Shibari Hotel Tulum to anyone looking for an exceptional getaway, especially couples seeking a romantic and unforgettable experience. Come and see it for yourselves—you won't be disappointed! Thank you, Shibari, for an amazing vacation. We can't wait to come back!

My girlfriend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shibari Tulum, and it was truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Every team member was incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making our stay exceptional. We never had to ask for anything; they were always one step ahead, offering fresh towels, checking if we needed anything, and keeping our room spotless throughout the day. The level of service was outstanding. The rooms were immaculate, beautifully designed, and exceptionally well maintained. You could tell the entire resort takes great pride in every detail. The spa is an absolute must. We enjoyed some of the best massages we’ve ever had, and it was the perfect way to relax during our trip. The cenote was another highlight-crystal clear, clean, and meticulously maintained, just like the rest of the property. If you’re looking for a luxurious, peaceful getaway in Tulum with incredible hospitality, beautiful accommodations, and a staff that goes above and beyond, I can’t recommend Shibari Tulum enough. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at Hotel Sabari for our 15 year anniversary, We splurged and chose one of the expensive suites that said it had a private cenote and your own plunge pool. When we got to our room it had neither. The cenote was not private and was full of seaweed. The room didn't even have a bath, only a shower. There was nothing appealing about the room, in fact it was just a longer room compared to their most basic room. We asked to switch to a downgraded room so we could have a plunge pool and the hotel staff refused to refund the difference of over $2000. We even showed them on ******* where it said the cenote suite would come with a plunge pool. They blamed ******* and said we would have to take it up with him. However the hotel is the one who provides the details listed for the hotel rooms on *******. The second issue is that they made a meal with animal products after explaining how important it was not to have any, I haven't eaten animal products in 25 years. They guaranteed my meal would be vegan, the next day we went to order it again and they said they were not able to make it vegan, that the noodles had eggs in them. When I had eaten the meal I had gotten so sick vomiting and diarrhea ALL night. I thought it was just from being in a new country but I now know It was because they fed me eggs. We try and support the smaller hotels during their off season but we will never go there again. Most of the staff were very kind, the manager however lied to our faces again and again

The property and amenities were amazing and the service was top notch. Be prepared to spend some money in Tulum though. Nothing is cheap

Avoid this place. Other than the nice cenote, cost does not match the experience. Understaffed, backwards billing concepts, overall poor stay.

We had a magical 4-night stay. It’s a calm, beautifully designed oasis with standout service across the board—from reception and concierge to security and the restaurant team. Daily yoga was the perfect reset, and the breakfast is hands down the best in Tulum. We left feeling relaxed, recharged, and already planning our return. ✨

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Even though it feels like you are in the middle of the jungle, not one insect in our room. The cenote (natural pool) is breathtaking. They have free bikes to use and since the room is a beach town, it was walking distance to some of the most popular spots like Tantra Tulum Ilios the Greek restaurant, both are great scenes to party or enjoy company. The staff was spectacular and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and we will for sure be coming back.
