Maison Tulum

This hotel is aesthetically beautiful, with lots of greenery, plants, and a lovely terrace that creates a charming atmosphere. Unfortunately, beyond that, there wasn't much else that stood out. One of the biggest drawbacks was the steep staircase leading to the rooms. As international travellers with large suitcases, carrying our luggage up and down was quite difficult. The rooms themselves were very average. The beds were rickety and squeaked with every movement. The bathrooms were in poor condition and definitely in need of renovation. The shower didn't function properly, with water spraying in multiple directions with no hot water at all, and the sink was so small that it was inconvenient to use. The air conditioning in one of my friend's rooms also stopped working, and unfortunately, the hotel wasn't able to fix it during our stay. Overall, the hotel is in need of a significant upgrade to match the beauty of its outdoor spaces. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and every meal we had there was delicious.

The owner of the establishment was very kind and helpful and was attentive to all of our needs. The bathroom had low shower pressure but overall got the job done. The room was small but enough space for me and the other person I was traveling with, the beds were very comfortable and spacious. The AC worked great got very cold at night. The parking is on the street, which is fine. The rooftop of the place was spectacular. The place had three cats that were the most adorable. Overall, I would recommend to stay here. You get easy access to a lot of of the restaurants that are about walking distance. The place really gives you a homey vibe. And the restaurant that’s attached to the building has very good breakfast for a reasonable price perfect for just wanting to get up and get breakfast.

Fantastic hide away with lots of art in the building and decoration between lots of trees. Nice roof terrace for breakfast. Very close to city centre and dive shop.

pros manager super helpful and available with plenty of the city recommendations + transportations cute apartments with amazing decoration cons lack of cleaning (dirty room and same towel (one for each person) for 6 days! no fridge for keeping the water bottle cold in one of the rooms with temperatures reaching 30 degree leaking from the roof inside the room when it was raining breakfast only coffee, jam, butter and bread!!! ah! and one apple :( noisy during night! no strong WiFi in the upstairs rooms 20 minutes driving from the popular beach shower was not strong enough

We only used the kitchen for snacks, but the fridge was really useful and we were able to make ice in the little freezer compartment. There were lovely plates and bowls which we used.

Maison Tulum is lovely to be near the main street (Avenida Tulum). The location is a 5min walk from the street for great access to public transport, tour companies, markets, and food carts. The hotel is artistic with cool architecture, tropical plants, a quiet patio with hammocks, and colourful decorations. It is a safe location, and there are also jugs to refill water available, and many cute cats wandering around. Our room was large and clean with a nice kitchen and bathroom, good wifi, and great hot water. We were able to get beach towels for a refundable deposit. The main street of Tulum is very, very loud at night, so being a few streets away was appreciated. That being said, we had some noise at night from one vendor who honks a horn while passing by (not something the hotel can control) and from the cats howling at each other. Nonetheless we still had decent sleep, but I'd recommend bringing some earplugs. The on-site manager Guillermo was a little stern when we first arrived, but we suspect he was having a rough day as after this he was very attentive and friendly with us. The complimentary breakfast is small but helpful. Upon arrival we had bread with jam and butter, small fruits, and yogurt in our fridge. The second night we sadly never got a breakfast, and the rest of our nights we had bread with jam and butter and small fruits (no yogurt). Some better consistency would be nice, but it was okay. Overall I would stay again for the safety and convenient location.

!! Avoid SCAM !! In Booking they have picture of the breakfast INCLUD quiet amazing picture... When we arrived no breakfast only 2 slices of bread they call it "continental breakfast ". •.. And the noice you can't sleep!! Only good point Guilermo ! For the same price you have better option with True breakfast!!

We returned again for the third time as this hotel & staff are amazing.

If you want different experiences from regular hotels you can stay .. this is not hotel or Airbnb or house it’s something.. 100$ per night not worth. Area is completely slum
