Santa's Chalets Rakka

Beautiful hotel and location.

As part of a holiday organised by TransSun we stayed for four nights at the Hotel Rakka. We had an amazing time, with a friendly welcome and an excellent room. The trip was all inclusive including three buffet meals per day; this is something which in other places I've found to be hit and miss, but at Hotel Rakka every single meal was excellent. Lots of choices, healthier options, variety and included local produce as well as clearly being freshly prepared by the talented team. The rooms were very comfortable, with plenty of space to store all of the outdoors clothing you will inevitably need (if visiting in winter) and exceptional views across the countryside behind the hotel. On several nights we were able to see the impressive northern lights through the amazing floor to ceiling windows. The communal facilities were simple but comfortable with several separate spaces allowing groups to sit and chat, have a drink or read a book whilst taking in the surroundings.

A lovely hotel in an absolutely beautiful setting! We stayed here (myself, my husband and 5 friends) for 3 nights on an organised Transun holiday. The rooms are exactly as shown online, the decor is lovely, it is very clean and tidy and there’s plenty of room. The views out of the floor to ceiling windows are beautiful and we saw the Northern lights from them. We were full board and this consisted of buffet meals, although I believe there is A la carte available. The food was good, with adequate choice. There was always salad available, with 2 hot meals to choose from at dinner with vegetable accompaniments. The only real criticism would be that it would be nice to have some cheese on the dinner buffet, as there were always crackers out but nothing to eat them with! The staff were great, friendly but not intrusive, and always helpful when needed. The best thing about the hotel is where it is. Kilpisjärvi and the surrounding area is remote and beautiful! We visited the local shop, cafe bar and had a couple of tours, all of the people were lovely and friendly!

We were on full board at this hotel. All the staff were polite and helpfull, the selection for all meals which was buffet style was excellent and the dining area spotless. The accommodation was also excellent albeit the shower/toilet area was a little small but no big issue.

Incredibly nice looking and modern hotel. The rooms were stunning. Parking close to the rooms. Excellent service and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The stay felt very price worthy as we did not expect this nice of a hotel considering the price.

Great hotel next to Saana! We spend one night on this .quite new place. Our room was in 2nd floor and views were to wilderness and partly Saana. Room was spacious and clean. Restautant offered great lamb as easter special. Breakfast was one of best on Finland I have eaten. I can recommend.
