Hotel Höhlenstein
"we booked an upgraded room with a kitchen so that we could cook our own food, to our surprise we found that the hob does not work. After asking the staff they began to tell us it was only a display model not for use which is very convenient as all the shops and restaurants were shut by that time. The next day we found that there was a dark yellow leak from the room above which landed directly on our bed and belongings, the staff moved us to another room but there was no apologies as it was not their fault apparently? The whole experience was stressful and i would not stay here ever again!!"
Adler Inn Tyrol Mountain Resort Superior
"A Disappointing Experience – Not a True 4-Star Hotel We highly recommend doing thorough research before booking this hotel. Unfortunately, our stay did not live up to the expectations set by the website or the hotel's advertised 4-star status. 1) Location: The hotel is located on a busy road, with heavy traffic from large buses and ski-related car congestion heading towards the main ski lift. Many of the rooms face this road, meaning you can expect traffic noise. This is especially concerning if you have children, as the front of the hotel opens directly onto a busy country road. The image on the hotel’s website, showing a peaceful scene, is misleading—it was taken from the back of the hotel, not the front, which actually reveals a parking lot and a bustling road. Furthermore, the ski lifts are not easily accessible from the hotel. The drive to the lift takes around 10-20 minutes, depending on traffic, or you can rely on the hotel shuttle. It is not within walking distance, so don’t expect a quick walk to the slopes. On the plus side, if you enjoy walking or cross-country skiing, the location is ideal, as there’s a trail behind the hotel. 2) Food: As frequent visitors to Austrian hotels, we have come to expect high-quality food, especially when staying at a 4-star property. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. The food quality was disappointing: Cooked items were often overdone, such as ribs that were severely burnt. Salad ingredients appeared stale, and there was a noticeable recycling of old food. While the dinner service seemed to have gourmet aspirations, it was more akin to a basic cafeteria, with poorly prepared dishes, outdated ice cream, and subpar meat. On some nights, certain family members opted to skip dinner altogether. The food quality here is far from what you would expect from a 4-star establishment. In fact, we joked about nominating the restaurant for a "Gordon Ramsay intervention"—it truly needs a major overhaul. 3) Service: Service at the hotel was another letdown. The front desk staff was consistently unfriendly, especially when we needed help with simple requests, such as arranging transportation or organizing activities. This was particularly frustrating when traveling with kids, as daily plans often change and assistance is crucial. The hotel does seem to cater to regular guests, many of whom appear to have a close relationship with the owners and staff. This may create a more welcoming atmosphere for German-speaking guests or those from the region (Austria, Switzerland, Germany), but for international visitors, the service was lacking. Additionally, for those coming from tea-drinking countries (which is the majority of the world), be aware that the hotel restricts access to hot water and tea service during certain hours. This policy forces guests to buy drinks from the hotel, which, while a commercial strategy, feels quite inhospitable. In our experience, we have never encountered such penny"
Hotel-Garni Jakober - B&B Und Appartements
"On the 23rd of April 2025 I stayed at the Jakober hotel in Tux with my family and I had a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel was not exactly central or close to the ski slopes in reality It was a 10 minute drive but the Hotel had very nice wiews, the hotel Is also close to a nice Trail that goes along a clean and stunning river with lots of nice places to take photos. At First I had the impression that the hotel was understaffed but then I realised that the Woman running the hotel was very polite and professional so She made made out experience even Better. The hotel also had a Ski room service which wasn't the best but It was nice and next to It there was a ping pong table and a spa which are wonderful services and I am glad that the hotel offered them. The room on the other hand wasn't as nice Because It was really old style so It was like a Little apartment with two big and comfy bedrooms with bathrooms whilst also having a kitchen; everything was clean and well-kept. In the end we had a really good experience so I would suggest this Hotel to anyone visiting the Hintertux glacier."
Kinder- & Gletscherhotel Hintertuxerhof
"Amazing hotel as always. Really good fresh homemade food. Fabulous with children. Friendly helpful staff that go the extra mile for guests. Beautiful clean rooms. Close to the bergbahn. Relaxing atmosphere in the hotel."
Hotel Tirolerhof 4 Sterne Superior
"Four visits to the Tirolerhof Hotel within one year… that clearly speaks for our absolute satisfaction. :) Incredibly kind and welcoming staff, a beautiful location, amazing food, perfect wellness, wonderful rooms – we couldn’t fault a thing."
Das Alois 4 Sterne Superior
"Everything was perfect! The staff, the food , the rooms and entire facility were so clean. This was our first visit to Hintertux and they assisted us with everything. A bus each way to the glacier stops outside. On returning the spa has everything. We loved our stay- we had 2 rooms as we have a teenage girl so would suggest this for others ."
Hotel Pinzger Tux
"The business has a warm, family-run atmosphere and offers delicious traditional dishes that are clearly made with care. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality of the food largely justifies it. Unfortunately, the experience was somewhat diminished by the receptionist, who came across as rather unfriendly and seemed easily offended when we raised questions regarding billing. A more professional and open approach to customer concerns would greatly improve the overall impression."
Hotel Alpenhof
"We stayed at Alpenhof Hotel two weeks ago, and we’re still carrying with us the warmth of the welcome and service we received. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel at home from the first moment. The hotel organizes fantastic activities that truly made our stay memorable – the BBQ experience with view on the Alps after a beautiful e-bike tour was absolutely unmissable, and the sunset hiking tour was breathtaking. The dining experience was exceptional as well: from the generous, high-quality breakfast to the delicious dinners, every meal was a highlight. Add to this the wonderful spa, outdoor whirlpool, and you have the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. We can’t recommend Alpenhof Hotel highly enough – a truly special place that we look forward to returning to."

Schönblick Appartements
"What a wonderful complex. Super friendly welcome, beautiful apartment, ideal location and wonderful saunas. The apartment number 5 is really great. Modern, sleek and yet cozy. Good beds, luxurious bathrooms and a private sauna. I don't think you can find anything more beautiful in Tux. Combine that with a great host and all you need is snow. By bus to the glacier or to Eggalm. You'll be there soon. Bakery 50 minutes away and the bus stops almost in front of the door. We enjoyed."
