Great experience!
Perfectly located, with several tourist attractions, such as the Murganheira Cave, the Ucanha Bridge and Tower, among others, the Hotel Douro Cister is a great choice for those who want to take some time to relax!
The service is excellent, without a doubt we felt welcomed by every employee at the hotel!

The views from the hotel are incredible. It is located in a quiet area, with great views but is far from everything.
Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Sheets were dirty with hair.
Breakfast also. For a 4-star hotel there should have been more variety and fresh bread, because the bread didn't seem to be fresh. They should replace the food, since there were no longer any fruits and other things.
The price is excessive at the pool bar.

We had a good stay here, for the most part. The staff was lovely, unfailingly helpful and courteous. We did not have a balcony in the room, so it was a bit darker than we like, but otherwise pleasant. Comfortable bed and bath, but no WiFi in the room. Other amenities were a sauna, which I couldn’t get to be hot, an indoor pool and an extensive outdoor pool that was very refreshing. The restaurant had a decent brunch- only had dinner once as there were other places we wanted to try. One morning we made a reservation to tour the nearby caves - that was a delightful tour, different from the other production wineries we visited. Ucanha is also an interesting town with Roman architecture.

This is a beautiful hotel surrounded by the most beautiful countryside with the magnificent Douro River just along the road. Unfortunately we were only here for one night but in all my years and on all my travels I have never found more friendly and welcoming staff. They simply couldn't have made us feel more at home. We will undoubtedly return.

Excellent service Excellent location Quiet place close to nature Perfect for relaxing and unwinding Super clean and comfortable room Excellent bed, wonderful mattress Breakfast with lots of variety (fruit, yogurts, bread, scrambled eggs, bacon, juice, cakes, cereals, croissant, bread , cheese... Everything is good and the best) - Swimming pool could have cleaner water (dead insects) - Excellent pool bar (the best shrimp pasta salad I've ever eaten with very affordable prices) IN GENERAL I RECOMMEND IT, I LOVED IT . - Hotel chosen specifically for the SPA option, but gym equipment did not work and massage service is not active, despite giving the MISLEADING information that there would be no vacancies - an email was sent in advance to book massages (not responded), when we asked about them they said “that everything was already full for the weekend”, including Monday (I went to the SPA several times to confirm the information, I never saw anyone, except in the indoor pool). - Air conditioning in the room didn't work, heater in the room didn't work, bathroom without hand towel rails. - Breakfast on the weekend is much more varied and fresh than on a weekday. The hotel will only serve as a summer retreat, given the rural location and large outdoor pools. Not recommended for colder seasons.
