Worst hotel I have stayed in in many a year. Dreadful music in played very late and all the local ****** hanging around threateningly .

Absolutely terrible Avoiding this place is a joke and you will regret spending your money and time there, smelly uncomfortable beds disgusting widows and defective shower my boyfriend burnt his private parts trying to have a shower in there due to extreme hot water and my ribs felt bruised because of the horrible bed and mattress ! The stairs were practically impossible to step on due to how narrow it was making it difficult to step on them!

Noisy, dirty, terrible bed, shower only just works, TV so small you need binoculars and breakfast only served after 9pm.

Stayed for one night. We were warned and prepared for noise as they play live music until the early hours. However we were woken up early morning by strange scratching noises coming from overhead (top floor room). When I contacted the hotel they told me these were birds on the roof - I'm not so sure as it seemed to be coming from the loft space. We paid for a 'deluxe' room and there was lots of damp issues on the walls and ceilings. Generally felt dingy. Breakfast was tasty. Parking, whilst they warn is limited, was impossible as most of the car park is taken up with piles of garden furniture and a large gazebo. Disappointed given the price.

Hi, I had a spacious room, fab complimentary supplies, nice style of bathroom, plenty of space to put my belongings if I'd had more with me, there would have been plenty of room. Absolutely wonderful staff, went above and beyond and lovely to have the chance to pop downstairs and feel welcomed and safe moreover. I'll be coming back as soon as possible. Thank you

Nice old pub in town . The food was excellent. All I ate was great. The two fellows,Calum and omg forgot the assistant or night managers name . Made my stay. I liked my bed facing the street Less noise . I would come back for sure. The , waiter from USA , only 9 from home had a British accent

The Sun Inn is in the centre of Ulverston with limited parking available, but they are honest and open about this and I didn't struggle to park as it was early in the week. The hotel is old and dated, but has hot water and clean bedding. Given I wasn't in the room for long periods this was fine, but might not be if you want to spend time indoors. Don't be expecting anything out of the ordinary, it is ordinary but served the purpose of shower, bed and sleep. Although if you're a light sleeper the seagulls might give you an early morning call.

I was disappointed that only offering continental breakfast, I had to go to the pub at the top of the street at 9 am, so it made it a late day

A very pleasant stay and a great Pride after party I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful host who showed me to my room and told me about the events of the coming weekend. The pub website says that it can be noisy because they have late night events but up on the second (or was it third floor) it was actually fairly quiet even with the Pride after party going on after midnight. The pub has a small car park that was never full in the week I was there. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Ulverston and within easy walking distance of bus stops for trips to Coniston and Windermere as well as the railway station for trips along the coast. I think the only negative point is one that the Sun has in common with most other hotels, not enough teabags!
