Location & Scenery: Most reviews praised the serene, secluded setting in Kangaroo Valley, with stunning views of the golf course, bushland, and abundant wildlife .

We booked a cabin for two nights and were disappointed in our stay. Whilst the cabin was relatively clean, the bathroom had mould all over the ceiling and a dank, musty smell. Although we were told there was wi-fi , this was only available at reception which was at least 150 metres from our cabin. The "smart" TV was not smart!! We were only able to get one free to air channel and that was distorted and unreliable. The blinds were broken in the bedroom and the outside of the cabin was unkempt. (Dirty windows and cob webs everywhere.) The road to the cabin was full of huge potholes, making it dangerous to drive to, especially at night. On the plus side, the cabin was beautifully situated in a quiet area, surrounded by bushland and native wildlife.

We booked one of the new luxury villas. Beautiful accommodation. Super modern with every thing you need. Great views of the valley. Abundance of wild life. Coming back late at night sensor lighting would have been good. Can’t wait to return again.

Amazing location, lovely wildlife but cabins and restaurant left a lot to be desired. Cabin was very dated and in need of update. We were upgraded to a delux cabin, the location of this was amazing for wildlife viewing but delux didn’t really describe it. The restaurant we looked forward to so much as it was my daughter 18th and husbands birthday, my daughter didn’t had ID (which I understand protocol) but the rude waitress then refused her a drink and forgot to bring her a soft drink. A male waiter then came over and I expressed my annoyance and he was apologetic but we saw other customers being treated rudely. This was our only experience whilst on holiday in Australia of unfriendly people. The pool - was green, should never have been allowed to be used as you couldn’t even see the bottom of the pool… Would we stay again, absolutely not but the potential of this place is incredible.

...a bit overpriced if you get an old cabin that had not been maintained. Lovely location and very serene. Hell of a starry night when we went. Just be aware most of the cabins are privately owned and the one we stayed in was in need of upgrading and just some general maintenance like replacing flyscreen mesh die to holes, missing fan control knob. There was a big hole in the wall where an airconditioner used to be that should have been covered up. It seems the owner of cabin 40 does not want to put any money into their investment, just milk it for all it is worth. The fridge door had no support rail to store you tall bottles upright and the freezer did look like Antarctica. Golf course was in excellent condition and staff at reception very friendly and helpful. The perimeter road needs alot of work due to pot holes (really needs a complete resurface) but I understand this is a council issue, not KVGR.

Below is a complaint email I sent these guys. We stayed in cabin 40 that had no upgrades since its was built....1970's! Hello, I booked a cabin as a birthday present for my wife and we stayed there this weekend just gone and were in cabin 40. Given the nightly tariff of $235 with a minimum of a two night booking, I must say the condition of the cabin, coupled with what you didn't get, made it poor value for money. I will list the issue below and provide photos as well. No wifi - I cannot think of a single place we have stayed in, a cafe we have dined at that doesn't provide free wifi. I believe most backpacking hostels provide it but for $235 a night, it is not included, nor even available. Holes in flyscreens rendering their purpose useless. Looks like the mesh has not been changed in decades. The freezer in the bar fridge somewhat useless as it was half filled with ice build up. The bottom rail on the fridge door missing meaning you could not securely store bottles upright in the door. Two bottles of soap / dishwashing liquid on the bench next to the sink, totally empty. A ceiling fan in the bedroom that was missing the knob on the switch plate. Not one single tissue in the cabin. A BBQ on the deck that not only had the igniter cable disconnected, but the gas bottle totally empty. If it is not in working order, why is it there??? One of the bedside lamps not working because it was plugged into a power board that was not plugged into an electricity source. Electricity cables all exposed in that area that were a potential tripping hazard. The bitumen road around the perimeter of the grounds was full of exposed pot holes. Other things that made zero sense was a pod coffee machine was on hand, but no pods supplied. A DVD player provided but no DVD's supplied This is simply not acceptable for any price, let alone what I paid for it. I will be putting this feedback on to sites such at Trip Advisor (I can see there are reviews on there similar to my complaint) to warn future people of what to expect should they be considering staying there. Obviously, we will not be coming back.

Our 3 days at the resort was so relaxing, and the accommodation has everything you need, plenty of room and stunning views from the big veranda. The views are breathtaking and the second we got there we were completely relaxed. You feel like you are a world away from everything, very peaceful. Steve and the lady at reception were so lovely, they make the experience of checkin, golfing and checkout so nice - super friendly. The golf - we just did for casual hit and giggle was fantastic, as we went around, the views and beautifully maintained course is very special to experience. I’d highly recommend staying and playing here!

We had a beautiful weekend with our friends playing golf, watching the gorgeous views. Our stay was made perfect by the amazing service from the fabulous Steve White. He makes the place so warm and friendly. We have been coming for years and he’s one of the main reasons why we return.

The setting is fabulous, the staff are good, the facilities are ok-ish. The problem, I think, is that the resort somewhat over sells and under delivers. For example, the restaurant is only open 2 nights per week, there is no bar, there is no wifi in the cottages and the interior of the one we stayed in was very dated. This evening we are staying in a motel for about 1/3rd of the price of this place and we are very happy with it because it sells itself accurately. It’s a shame. Had our expectations been managed a bit more accurately we probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.
