A clean and friendly hostel - we especially lived the cats! The dorm bunks are great value and the bathroom was cleaned every morning. It's very close to the station too.

My friend recommended this place. He mentioned the location was good, and it's indeed close to Wanda Plaza, with a convenience store right downstairs. The hostel provides drinking water and disposable toothbrushes, but towels are not included. Additional drinking water is also available in the lobby. The bed in the room was genuinely large and comfortable, which was a real plus, though the bathroom was quite small. The lobby officially closes at 1 AM, but when I went there at 12:25 AM, they were already cleaning and clearing out the area. Urumqi Station is also quite close; I just walked there. I hope the management pays a bit more attention to things. On two separate occasions, other guests were eating takeout in their rooms, and the smell was quite strong. However, I don't blame the hostel for this; it's the inconsiderate guests who are at fault.

This was my first time staying at a hostel in Urumqi, and I instantly felt so comfortable. I was in town for a marathon and even met fellow runners here. Sand Sea Hostel has a great vibe, and they even have two adorable cats in the lobby! 🐱

This hostel is really beautiful and confortable. It’s near railway station so that’s a good point but it’s one hour bus from city center. We are not Chinese and the people there are not speaking Chinese. So we didn’t have any recommandation and the people going there are mostly Chinese. Hard to meet friends there. There are 3 cute cats also
