Casa de SAL - Salt Hotel

Wonderful place, rooms were clean, beds were great, nice hot shower, staff super friendly. Out room had a fridge, kettle, microwave, coffee and tea, price point was pretty good for what we got, we would recommend it, don’t judge buy the entrance, one your through the gates it much much nicer on the inside!

Large bedrooms, salt decorations, good breakfast, good plumbing in 2/3 rooms, hot water The third room had very bad sewage and smelled very bad but they just put an air freshener (which didn’t help much), even when we asked if we could change rooms.

We fell in love with this hotel at first sight. The entrance and reception is deceiving, but you would find salt sculptures and workers touching up every salt brick during our stay to maintain its pristine salt conditions. The staff were very attentive and helpful whenever we ask for direction, money exchange or car service. The restaurant served delicious food for breakfast and dinner while we stayed there, recommend to try the Llama pizza which looked like pepperoni sausages but more *****. It was building a hot tub on top floor, so you could enjoy even more facilities in the future!

This hotel is out of my expectation. Good decoration and has lift. Room is big and has hot water. Front desk is helpful and good service. It is warm, not just in room, but the whole hotel. Location also good, although not close to the main street, but not far away and you will pass the local market. Beware of the monthly market day, the entire street will be occupied by local hawkers. Taxi will not able to stop at the main door of hotel.

We were lucky enough to have stayed 3 nights here as this hotel usually seems fully booked specially during jan and feb the rainy season. So after arriving in uyuni I heard from the travel agencies there hasn’t been much rain at all this year and I guess some of the guests canceled therefore we managed to stay 3 nights here During those 3 nights the receptionist wearing glasses I think her name is Alejandra was really very helpful in every aspect. You can see she is really helping guests with her heart and most importantly a very professional attitude. Eduardo also was so nice helpful he always answered my questions with helpful details and always greet me and other guests with such a nice smile. If I will come back to uyuni I will definitely want to return. The hotel has very spacious rooms and just few minutes walk you can get to the city centre

While the location is fabulous, nothing else is. It is situated just high enough above the salar (salt flat) for excellent views, including sunset. The building appears to be built from salt blocks taken from the salar, including bed frames and headboards (but thankfully not mattresses!) Much of the floor is salt gravel too, although laminate walkways along corridors appear to be a newer addition. Many big wood-fired stoves along the corridors too, to provide heat in winter. The buffet dinner was average at best, much of it standing for a long time. A single glass of mediocre Bolivian red wine, served ice cold, cost about $10 USD -- roughly 5 or 6 times the price of the whole bottle in a shop. Buffet breakfast was marginally better, but only instant coffee and poor scrambled eggs. Not sure how much is costs to stay a night here, as it was included in our tour.
