Grand Hyatt Vail

Location and Environment: The hotel is beautifully situated along a stream and river, offering picturesque views and a tranquil environment. Guests appreciated the property's natural beauty and the presence of birds, enhancing the overall ambiance.

The property is classified as "5 Star" but it is NOT. It is well kept, but not quite the 5 star status it claims to be. The staff is very professional and friendly but provide very little service. There is no turn-down service and rooms are kept with minimal amenities, to the point that it was uncomfortable to have to be calling for simple things like two wine glasses that were removed from our room (we brought them in because they don't have it in the room despite the fact that there is a wine bottle opener) and one of our bathrobes was removed from the room and never returned. We received a very nice upgrade because the room we selected was misrepresented both in the hotel's website and in the ******* website. The manager on site, Vaibhav Saxena was extremely nice and accommodating in an effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, and to make up for the room issue, he upgraded us to a new larger suite; however, there is where we noticed the lack of adequate amenities that are standard of a 5 star property. We also approached the Concierge to request ideas for what to do during our stay and other than give us brochures (which we had already downloaded from the internet) they were not at all helpful. We did not find this service at all helpful, unlike at many other 5 star properties we stay at. In general, I had a good experience, but it was definitely not the experience I expected and definitely not the experience a 5 star hotel should deliver.

We arrived to find the place sold out due to a conference which meant long lines and no seating at the bar areas. Then a large wedding party arrived consuming most of the areas and had to listen to the wedding music/DJ from 5pm -10:30pm followed by the clean up crew for a hour later. Would have appreciated the hotel making me aware of my room location and the proximity to the wedding so I could have requested my room to be else where. A prior individual left a few that the hot tub was green.....it was. The pool is also not to scale for the size of property. We won't be back.
