Our family of five stayed at the Arielles for a week in early April. To begin with, Val D’Isere is a much different experience then Courcheval. The mountain is more of a”ski town” feel, with rustic elegance, as opposed to the luxury and branding of its nearby mountain competitor. Arielles in Val D’Isere is a five star hotel in every way. The service was fantastic. The hotel and spa are very nice, and the ski room on the lower level is easy to use, and really nice and user friendly. It’s important to note that the best restaurants in Val D’Isere all are either on property, close by, or directly affiliated with the hotel. Make plans to visit all four for the best dinners in town. Val D’Isere has a decent Apres Ski set up, but it is nothing like Courcheval. Great meals and a great time, but not over the top. The one negative about Arielles we found, with our three teenage and early twenties children, was the amount of young kids everywhere at the hotel. The spa was most times filled with young kids in the pool. They were loud and it is not a relaxing spa at times to be in. That said, the overall experience was excellent. The location within steps of the Gondola’s was great for ski in/ski out, and as stated the hotel is lovely with wonderful service. Overall, for those looking for a beautiful family ski hotel with all the amenities Arielles has it.
