"We had 3 nights here and loved Valparaiso. We felt safe at this hotel and the service was excellent. Our standard double room was absolutely fine - we were out all of the days sightseeing. We loved the lounge and restaurant terrace - we had dinner here all 3 nights and lunch one of the days. For two of the dinners they had live music (guitar and saxophone) - fabulous musicians and really added to our enjoyment of the evening. Fantastic view over the city and port from the restaurant terrace and we so enjoyed seeing the sunset with a Pisco Sour in hand, watching the birds swooping by. The pool area looked great (although we didn't use). The staff all very helpful - particularly at reception. Breakfast buffet excellent. Highly recommend."

Casa Vander Hotel Boutique ★★★

"Overall we had a really nice stay at Casa Vander. Location was great in terms of walkability, as it is super central and very close to great restaurants and right behind one of the many funiculars in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions, and the included breakfast was simple but delicious. The only drawback to the location was that because it's so central, it gets very loud in the weekends with people partying below. The hotel itself is old and very charming but it could use some fixes and upgrades. The bathroom door didn't close properly, for example, and it's just a few feet from the bed, so not ideal. Still, had a great time though, so unless you're looking for a 5-star hotel, I would recommend this as a great funky place to spend a few days."

"Sure! Here’s the translation: This hotel is very vintage and tasteful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient, with a nice blend of tranquility and liveliness. The breakfast is exquisite, and the owner is very elegant. The only downside is that there is a bit of an odor in and around the hotel and the room, likely due to the carpet. I can only give the room cleanliness a score of 5.5, and I hope for improvements in the future."

"Casablu is a nice boutique hotel, very clean - the bedroom and bathroom nice size, no air con - but there was a fan. Very comfy rooms, there is a lovely terrace on second floor where you can relax and look out on a great view across the bay. There is no lift. Breakfast is ok, with eggs cooked to your order. The hotel is in a good position in Cerro Alegre district which a quirky arty area full of bars and restaurants - however Valparaiso is very very hilly and a difficult walk, but when it was too much Uber came to the rescue. Really enjoyed our stay and the staff at the hotel were excellent, very helpful, recommending restaurants and places of interest."
