Sky Hotel

Small clean room with a clean bathroom. It's not a new Fanny place so expect some rusty parts. The TV was broke when I checked in, they changed it in the next 10 minutes. The "new" one wasn't the best one but it worked. The Pool and the Poolarea where very clean!

Bit of a mixed bag with this hotel so I will weigh up the positives and negatives. We stayed 4 nights. Negatives: we saw multiple ant infestations. The first day when we returned in the evening we found all of our bags and belongings were crawling with ants. When we told reception they showed us another room where we also spotted ants (not as many) followed by another room where we had to kill a cockroach. Finally we stayed for the night in a twin room that was clean. The next day they moved us into a double room that was clean and had no ants. So days 2-4 were fine but we were a bit traumatized from the first day. The night porter and the woman owner were not that helpful when we saw them on duty. Breakfast was acceptable at best, instant noodles in broth made to order, very poor selection Positives: the male owner was very kind and helpful. We had rented a bike for 2 days via the hotel and he said it was free because of the room inconvenience. He also apologized the next day for the inconvenience. There is also a parking garage at the hotel which was helpful for parking the bike. The pool was clean and well maintained when we did use it. View from the rooftop terrace was nice although we didn't use it much. I see the other reviews are mostly positive so I think we just got unlucky with the ants but please be aware we had issues 2 nights in a row.

Family run hotel and they were very helpful organizing transport to the train station. Good location near the river album still very quiet at night.

Absolutely amazing stay - it's clear that the owners take pride in their hotel. The pool and pool area is incredibly clean. The breakfast is fantastic, fresh fruit (varied and lots of it) contained in a fridge (so fresh, cold and no bugs like a lot of other hotels). Option of cooked breakfast every morning (eggs your way). The gentleman running the hotel is so helpful, he booked several tours for us, getting us a good price and being patient when we changed our plans several times. The communal areas are incredibly clean, the staff are always working hard doing something for the hotel. The location is excellent - walkable to everything in Vang Vieng, near some nice restaurants (Green, Vela, beats and bites). Everything in the room worked perfectly. The shower had great pressure and great temperature. Bed was extremely comfortable and the TV was loaded with apps to watch TV (we used Plex as it had English language shows and films). The bathroom has soap, shampoo and fresh towels daily. The rooftop is amazing, we actually used this instead of going to rooftop bars. The hotel sells beer in the fridge at reception. Highly highly recommend this hotel. Genuinely we could not find any fault with this hotel at all, we over heard many guests booking to stay extra nights expressing how happy they were with the stay at the hotel and the breakfast.

The time I visited was the rainy season. Maybe because of that, the room was damp and musty. It was a room that didn’t get much sunlight. I wish the Vietnamese hostess would smile a little when dealing with customers. I stayed here for two nights, but I never once saw anyone smiling. I wasn’t particularly dissatisfied with the facilities or location for the price, but next time I’d like to stay at a different hotel.

Feel like having fresh mango for breakfast? The fruit selection at the buffet is epic. They have fresh coffee and mango smoothies. The rooms are beautiful, amazing view, bottled water, toothbrushes, even face towels. Quiet air conditioning and there's a ceiling fan too. The beds are comfortable - we got a triple room with 3 single beds- and the power points are right next to the beds. Overall, our favourite hotel for the trip. Oh and the pool is great. We spent an afternoon drinking beer on the beach chairs and swimming. *We got our own tuktuk back to the train station for 30k each instead of the 50k offered by the hotel.

This was one of the few places that we could have three separate beds in a room. Location was good. The breakfast was decent. It was really nice to have a little pool to swim in because it was very warm.
