After exiting the airport, following the 'HOTEL (SCANDIC)' signs, I waited at bus stop 42 and a grey bus came to pick me up. There are a few Scandic hotels, but Valimo is the first stop, so I arrived quickly. The hotel is clean and stylish. The reception staff were also kind and polite. However, due to its sleek and minimalist design, there are absolutely no amenities in the room. There's no kettle or cups either, and it was tough not being able to have a warm cup of tea when it was cold. Nevertheless, I think the best feature of this hotel is its Finnish sauna! It's free to use until 11 PM and it warmed me right to the core. This hotel is highly recommended for anyone using Helsinki Airport.

Standard Nordic-style twin room. The room is compact, with two single beds pushed together and two separate single duvets. Good enough for an overnight stay near the airport. Had a quick breakfast in the morning and caught the airport bus—very reassuring and convenient. Trip.com's price was quite reasonable.

This hotel offers the best value for money for a layover day trip in Helsinki. They provide a free shuttle to the airport, and from the airport, you can easily explore the city with a day pass.
