Melia Internacional Varadero

This was my second time to this hotel and our stay was wonderful! Very high level of service, friendly workers. The food was pretty good relatively to Cuba, great variety at the buffets. Great entertainment programs every night, live music on the pool balcony at morning and evening times. The hotel was very clean and maintained well. Few disappointments- the room we were given at first was on the far end of the floor and it was facing a loud workshop. The shower had a bath tub that was not comfortable to get in and out of. Keep that in mind, it might not be suitable for seniors or little kids. Had to switch rooms, luckily we were given a much better room. TV had some signal issues. a final comment is about the shows- the hotel has a show every night but they never started on a timely manner… for someone who was tired from running around all day, not so great. Besides that- will be back at this hotel for sure! A special thanks few people who made our stay extra special: Horhe who was our tour guide on our trip to Havana, very knowledgeable and kind! Ayrovis at the towel exchange, he is so kind and friendly, always greeting you with a smile! Yandry, sweet Lazarro and the amazing Josue, the best bar servers at the res bar! Maydelis and dainarys at the big buffet, so sweet welcoming and kind! And Yulianella and Soley at front desk who were so helpful!

We travelled March 26 to April 2nd 2025. Prior to our arrival I was in contact with the hotel regarding our stay with them. Upon arrival we were surprised and escorted by golf cart to the Adult Section only were we were warmly greeted and introduced to the Guest Services Manager Ivan (please forgive us if we misspelled your name) who was absolutely charming and made us feel welcomed and at home. Upon arriving in our room we were overwhelmed by the room assigned to us. It was beyond our belief of beauty, space, comfort, view, cleanliness of this Royal Suite. Super comfortable bed, lots of towels, extra pillows and hot water. The panoramic ocean view from the balcony was outstanding with amazing sunsets. The lobby was stunning with lots of gathering spaces with couches, chairs, bar seating areas. Every evening we had the pleasure of listening to a performer playing beautiful music on a Baby Grand Piano. At the bar in the lobby you could always find staff with warm greetings serving coffee, tea, soft drinks, alcohol (huge variety of liquor) and beer. The private pool area for the Adult Only Section is fantastic, clean and plenty of loungers for guests with shade if needed. There is also an outdoor restaurant at the pool where you can get hot dogs, fries, pizza, coffee beverages (non alcohol or with alcohol) Not sure of start time but closes at 6:00pm so they can set up for supper service. Food….wow absolutely no complaints in that area. Great taste, done to perfection, with amazing plate presentation. To date we have eaten at all the restaurants and enjoyed every one of them. My opinion I am not sure why people say it was no good. Honestly as they don’t spoil the food with numerous spices you actually get to taste the meat, vegetables, rice etc as it should be. We as a society have been so used to covering up the real taste of food that we have forgotten what it really tastes like. The beach bar (hot BBQ lunch served) is truly amazing with a choice of chicken, pork or salmon. Usually served with rice, vegetables (varies everyday) and salad (varies everyday) on one side and the other you can get all drinks. Staff are super funny, professional and treat everyone as family with kindness and respect. The beach is a thing of beauty with soft white sand, turquoise water and a bar server that comes along to ensure you don’t get dehydrated and brings you drinks with a smile. Beach chairs are very comfortable with plenty to go around. No need to fight to try and find them. Beach attendants are very attentive to your needs and will set you up upon arrival at the beach. Thank you to all the staff in the front line to the back of the kitchen, cleaning, gardening. We really appreciate all the hard work you do. The hotel would not be what it is today if you weren’t there doing a phenomenal job There are 3 staff members that have gone above and beyond their duties while we were there and we would like to give them our version of

We have just returned from our third visit to the Melia International!!!! Once again the staff did not disappoint!!! Edgar Power .. you’re the man !!! Thank you so much for all you do ! Osmani , Yuri ,Tomys you guys keep the party going and the rum flowing !!! We were very glad to see some old friends as well !! Erelyn , Kenia , Vicente Lisbet .. and many more !! The Adults only is the way to go !! The ladies at the Capri bar were fantastic ! The meals were exceptional but for us the star attraction is that beach !!! See you all very soon, as we are planning our next visit now !!!

Spent a week here with my husband 3 kids and a gf with her dauther, we just got back yesterday. My husband I and have been to Cuba many times and this is the best hotel to date! We usually take the kids to Punta Cana and get away just us to Cuba this year decided to take the kids and we don't regret it! For Cuba standers and compared to 6 plus hotels we've been to in Varadero this hotel definitely Is the best! My husband is very picky when it comes to food and he said he would return! We could have easily done 14 days here. The staff are all very friendly and helpful especially the two guys at the rumba buffet they are at the back of the rumba restaurant to the left wish I remembered their names because they went above and beyond! All staff were so nice and helpful. Food: many options of food but it was a quit repetitive daily. What was there was really good (for cuba). Lobster shrimp fries Hotdogs burgers pizza pasta tones of veggies and meats .. no complaints. Lots of desserts breads etc. My one complaint about food would be fresh eggs.. I eat omlettes and it would have been nice to have freshly cracked eggs and some breakfast meats available however very minor! Beach towels plenty of them and the guy at the beach towel hut so kind and friendly!! The rooms are what you need. Plenty of water bottles, towels, hot water and very modern. One thing here is I wish we would get new bath towels daily but again very minor. One thing I loved seeing at this hotel is water came exclusively from water bottles all over restaurants Bars etc.. and plenty available. The hotel is big but the lay out is very functional. So don't worry about the size! Very family friendly resort! We would definitely return without hesitancy.

We are at the hotel at the moment and have to admit we having a great time the hotel is very nice and there is always something to do. The food is the only disappointment but we are not starving. Lol the best part is getting to know the staff. Our favourite person is Danay that works at the bar by the beach. Very attentive and friendly. It’s been a pleasure to get to know her..

This resort has it all, can’t tell that you’re in Cuba. The only thing we didn’t have was fresh milk, just mixed powered milk. They were fully staffed which was awesome as there was always someone there who eagerly wanted to assist you. I never had to wait in line for anything. Even while chilling by the pool, they walked around and took drink orders. We didn’t upgrade to Level but never felt like second class guests as they had their own spots so everything we saw we had access too. There was constant entertainment, live musician in the mornings by the pool, live music again at the blue bar around 7pm and then a show at 9:45pm. The only issue was that they didn’t have a stage and performed around the pool so unless you were in the first 3 rows, you couldn’t see the performances, We had tender beef almost everyday, the kids ate at the ice cream shop at least 3 times a day and the snack bar made great burgers, sandwiches and pizza and had a bar with coffee so we never felt the need to do the lunch buffet. Next to the pool was also a mini sandwich buffet with every veggie topping and sauce you wanted. It also had a bar with coffee and bottles of water. We ate at a restaurant every night except Christmas buffet which was so organized and calm with prebooked tables which made it such a pleasant experience. The rooms were spacious and very clean, no smell of mold, quiet and very good A/C and room 4118 was in a quiet area as requested were we never disturbed by sound at night or in the morning. The Dance Club "Space Bar" was on the 10th floor till 1am and you couldn't hear it from the other rooms. The rooms also had your beach towels and a fully stocked mini fridge and gave you a large water bottle daily. Bathrooms everywhere were clean and had toilet paper. This is my 4th hotel at Varadero in the last 2 years and by far the best, highly recommend!
