Not like the pictures. We used Lonely Planet to guide us to this place. But apparently something has happened since Lonely Planet visited this place because it definitely didn't look like it did on the pictures! Not at all cosy or idyllic i would say

Very standard, charm, for the money. Beautifully decorated rooms, clean and tidy. The young manager Jackson meets you with contagious joy and professionalism. In addition, he offers himself. We have received very valuable help from him in booking excursions, long-distance taxis, etc. In addition, good tips on small activities. We highly recommend" Jickys Nest after a week's stay.

These place is very close to the cliff , and you get lot of options to eat and have fun at beach ( only thing , you need to climb up & down the cliff for beach). The accommodation is very simple , with decent staff. I happened to visit one resort in South cliff on a bike , which had fantastic views of the beach from its lawn. However , there weren't any shops, restaurants etc. nearby, it had its own cafe/bar inside. So if you are fooddie and want to enjoy beach too , Jicky's Nest is good choice. If you want to enjoy beautiful view from your hotel room , want to go out less , u can head for south side hotels. 4 star for Jicky's is for location , or else accommodation 2 Star..

We loved stayed here because Jackson and his family are so sweet and nice, they helped with everything and the rest of the staff is smiling and kind. We highly recommend this place! Near to the cliff but yet quiet and surrounded by nature!

We spent 19 lovely days at Jicky's. This family run facility is located just a stroll away from the busy cliff walk, which is a blessing when there are a lot of visitors in Varkala.Our room was always clean and quiet. We had access to filtered water all the time. Our laundry was done quickly and well. Hot water and a fan in the room made our stay even better. Jackson, the proprietor, was helpful and spoke excellent English. He was easily available for consultation. Jicky's has a restaurant just down the path that delivers if you wish, but the outdoor setting was so inviting we didn't ask for delivery. Jicky's offers a terrific range of rooms. Affordable and luxurious choices were available. They have been around for a long time and they are a well run facility.

A friendly, comfortable, well located and well priced guesthouse in otherwise busy Varkala. A great place - definitely recommended. Clean rooms, comfy, mosquito nets, friendly staff, free water refills, 2 min walk to the main cliff.
