Daios Cove

We stayed at Daios Cove for a week on our first family holiday with our 5-month-old son. After doing a lot of research to find the right all-inclusive option, we settled on this resort and overall had a wonderful stay. We booked through British Airways, with our package (including flights) costing around £3,800. The service throughout our stay was excellent—nothing we asked for was ever too much trouble. We were provided with a steam steriliser and a comfortable travel cot in our room, which made things much easier with a baby. The food was consistently delicious, with plenty of dining options to choose from. All room service was included which meant we could have breakfast on the terrace and a couple of dinners too. One small regret was not realising until the last day that the Ocean restaurant was available for breakfast, which would have been a lovely alternative to the buffet. The resort is generally buggy-friendly, though getting around often requires using the funicular, which can mean a bit of waiting. Possibly trickier during high season. There were a few downsides for us. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible during our stay—rain, wind, and clouds all week. April is definitely a gamble! Although the pools are advertised as heated, they weren’t that warm. We had hoped to take our son swimming indoors (as we do regularly at home), but the indoor pool was too cold for him—around 25°C. The spa pool was the perfect temperature, but unfortunately, children aren't allowed. We had paid extra for a room with a private pool, imagining peaceful nap times by the water, but sadly the pool wasn’t heated and sat in the shade, so we didn’t get to use it at all. Lastly, while our room was very spacious, it felt quite dated and basic in terms of décor—worth noting if aesthetics are important to you. All in all we had a great holiday and would consider returning again.

We recently stayed at Daios Cove and unfortunately, it does not live up to the luxury standard or the price category it markets itself in. Food & Drinks: The food is of a good quality, but it’s very repetitive across most restaurants. By day four, it becomes tiring as the variety simply isn’t there. The drinks and cocktails, however, were excellent and probably the highlight of our stay. Service: The staff at the restaurants, beach, and bars were all genuinely lovely and helpful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for reception and concierge, where the attitude felt less welcoming and not what you would expect from a so-called luxury resort. Facilities & Comfort: The sunbed situation was extremely disappointing. Guests should not have to wake up at 7am to secure a spot when paying premium rates. The rooms also fall far short of luxury. The design and layout feel more like a 3-star level, with family rooms being particularly small and impractical. The open-plan bathrooms are not family-friendly at all. Kids Club: The kids club is more suited for toddlers, with very little on offer for older children, which was a real letdown for us as a family. Policies & Experience: We requested a late check-out but were met with reluctance and extra charges, even though we had arrived late on our first day. It felt like every small request came with resistance, which is not the attitude you expect from a resort claiming to be 5-star luxury. Overall: While the food quality and drinks were enjoyable, the overall experience did not feel luxurious, welcoming, or worth the high price tag. There are many other hotels at this level that truly go above and beyond to make guests feel valued—unfortunately, Daios Cove is not one of them.
