Cabanas da Viscondessa

It was a perfect place to explore the island. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. A very peaceful place, would highly recommend. Would definitely come back and stay there again.

We loved our stay at Cabanas de Viscondessa. The setting is gorgeous! So lush, peaceful, with fresh honeysuckle-scented air. Our room was beautiful, with a private deck looking out into the trees! Nivedita, who seems to do it all, was truly a highlight of our stay. From check-in and check-out to serving delicious meals, she was kind, knowledgeable, and full of warmth. Talking with her was a joy! She shared so much insight about the area and made us feel incredibly welcome. We also met Mr. George, the owner, who was lovely. The food at Cafe Zephyr was delicious and clearly made with care. Such a special place! We are so glad we found it!

This unique hotel provides a home like accommodation in an area that feels rustic at the same time. We stayed two nights and due to our schedule did not eat at the property but heard great things about it from locals.

Cabanas da Viscondessa are incredible Cabanas tucked away in nature on top of the hill, we wish we could have stayed longer as the accommodations are incredible and we loved staying there. They were a little tricky to get to at night in the rain and fog BUT George welcomed us and got us settled in quickly. We were surprised how spacious they were and the King bed was comfy as well. Definitely a must stay if you have the opportunity when travelling to Soa Jorge Island.

Absolutely perfect. Beautiful accommodations and peaceful natural surroundings. The restaurant is fantastic and so accommodating. They opened just for my husband and myself for my birthday dinner. We had the fish and a beautiful salad with all fresh ingredients from the island. Order the breakfasts as well!

Cabanas da Viscondessa is a dream destination hidden in the forests of São Jorge. We were delighted to be welcomed by Jorge and we loved hearing about his family and how the project came about. His passion, love and vision for these stunning eco cabins are wonderful. The cabins are semi-attached but so well designed that you wouldn't know there was a neighbour next door. We enjoyed two delicious dinners at the on-site restaurant. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!

Our favourite honeymoon accommodation We stayed here during out honeymoon and it was our favourite location of the two-week-tour. Beautiful and cozy cabanas in a jungle-like environment, friendly staff, and the restaurant was good as well. We’d highly recommend this place.

The owners of this property have created a beautiful oasis. This property has been in their family for a long time, and it was lovely to talk with the owner about that. The cabins were new, beautiful and relaxing. We could cook in the kitchen if we wanted to and eat at the restaurant on the property if we didn’t want to cook. The forest of lemon eucalyptus trees smelled heavenly. This was our favorite place to stay during our time on the Azores Islands.
