Our stay was in one word "EXCELLENT". The location of the hotel is the best around, Perfectly situated in the town and with a fabulous decking area with access to the Lake, the Staff is most willing to help and the restaurant has the best food/best service. Most thanks for all done by all staff to support. Hope to return soon.

One of my favourite hotels. Anywhere! Family run, with an extremely warm welcome from every one of the staff, from the reception, to the gentleman who parked my car, to the restaurant staff and lady who cleaned my room. A characterful, stylish hotel, with individually designed and furnished bedrooms and some beautiful communal areas. Luxurious, but not ostentatious. Perfectly situated in the town and with a fabulous decking area with access to the Lake. And they think of everything. Even a Nespresso machine for making a coffee al fresco after a morning swim. I look forward to returning!

When I booked our seven-night stay at this very nice hotel, I asked for a non-smoking room. I was assured most emphatically that it is a non-smoking hotel. Yet ash trays are provided on the balconies. Having smokers on the next balcony and the one above spoiled our experience when the weather allowed the balcony to be used. If you are planning to visit Velden, the Hubertushof is the place to stay. It is a well-appointed hotel and provides excellent and extensive breakfasts, with hot food cooked to order if required. Regina deserves a special mention for her friendly, prompt and efficient service. We had two dinners in the hotel. They were slightly expensive but of high quality. However, I don't recommend the 'slow cook menu' which, on one occasion, included some almost raw vegetables. Velden is a lovely little town and well worth a visit, but the weather was awful in late September, which emphasised the limited amount of things to do here if you're not a water sports enthusiast. The nearby cities of Klagenfurt and Villach are not particularly interesting, and there's a limit to the number of rides anyone wants to take on the Woerthersee. We're pleased that we stayed here, but we are unlikely to return.
