"I would like to thank all the staff of the hotel and the two restaurants for their welcome. The family room was clean, well maintained, spacious and breakfast was varied, with a valuable choice. The presence of a laundry and a supermarket near the hotel is also very practical, especially for several days stays. Finally, special mention for the brewery restaurant, which we particularly appreciated: the dishes were excellent and the servant very friendly. A very positive experience, especially thanks to the quality of the accommodation and the cleanness of the room."

"After the stifling heat in London, the heat here is somehow different. We arrived in Nantes on an on-time flight and are staying here en route to the Ile d’Oleron. We waited on the tarmac for a while slowly baking before we boarded the cool aircraft. It’s a modern hotel built in typical French eccentric style (there are old Citroen vehicles inside the hotel), but it works well and the air conditioning is excellent. The restaurant is popular and the quality is good, and the staff friendly. Just what we needed."

"We stayed for one week with our three daughters, aged 3-12. Highly recommend. Excellent kids day care, beautiful surroundings and lots of possible activities. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Was our first stay and we certainly will come back. Food choices are adequate and well prepared. Even though the hotel was fully booked, we never had this impression, on the contrary, very calm and relaxing. Beds are comfy, we had two communicating rooms, which were recently renovated."

"We were not warned until about a fortnight before our arrival that an additional floor was being added. We were asked to be forgiving and that disruption would be attempted to be kept to a minimum. The external two/three tower cranes were not a problem. The work on the roof created noise and vibration at intervals. Internally the story was different where work was also being carried out to ceilings in public areas occasionally making making access difficult and on a few occasions downright dangerous. We had booked our eight hotel holiday in January, therefore we had too little notice to change anything. Access is tricky but a sat-nav copes well. Plenty of parking, four disabled bays by the main entrance, EV charging bays available. Our large, carpeted bedroom with an excellent sea and Lake Tanchet view was very comfortable. It contained 2 x 900 mm (3') beds, 42" flat-screen TV (not Smart), small refrigerator, table 2 tub chairs, 2 wardrobes, drawers and shelves. Coffee and tea making facilities. The air conditioning only produced cold air, even on cool days. The Bathroom was a good size with walk in shower. The breakfasts are excellent, oysters and sparkling wine give a clue to the overall standard with an amazing range of breads and 'sprinkles'. The indoors pool is heated to a good temperature with water jets and nick-nacks. Dedicated swimmers have a floated off area. The outdoors pool is excellent for a warm, preferably sunny, day with plenty of sunloungers available. The staff are pleasant and willing. We recognise some same faces each year. We love this hotel. We love Les Sables. We do feel that we were let down this year"

"Stunning chateau with beautiful views and authentic furnishings albeit some quite unusual. We were the only guests during our visit and had a wonderful evening enjoying it to ourselves. Use of the kitchen to prepare evening meals as no dinner service which was great for us. A lovely lady cooked us breakfast the next morning when we came downstairs from our Princess Suite - a real treat. Stefan our host was very personable and check in was easy - great place to stay if your traveling down to Dordogne from Brittany Loved our stay!!!!"

"The hotel's location is good, close to the seafront, restaurants, and snack bars. The hotel's website doesn't mention it's a holiday village, but there are one or two entertainment events per week (like evening concerts). There's a staircase next to the bar that leads more quickly to the port side, but the steps are dangerous. One step is sloped, making you lean forward, and another has a wooden rod right in front of it. This nearly ruined my stay because I fell (luckily, just scrapes). We didn't have meals at the hotel because there are plenty of options around."

"Picked the hotel off the internet based on location and other reviews. It’s a decent place with really friendly and helpful staff. The basic rooms are just that, but clean and comfortable. Upgrade to the superior rooms if you can. I thought the rooms were expensive for what they are, but it was high season so fair enough. Views are first of the car park (can’t help thinking the hotel should be where the car park is) but then of the beach which is really nice and only 50 yards away. The town centre is only five minutes’ walk away. Even better beach, with surfing, is only ten minutes’ drive away at La Terriere."
