Hotel Scandinavia - Relais

Bathroom was quite large, breakfast had a nice variety. Hotel faced a nice plaza and was a close walk to saint marks. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in and check-out about giving suggestions for boats to Burano/Murano, where to eat, and where to get a gondola.

A beautiful building, an old palazzo, now turned into a wonderful hotel. Very clean. Elegant Venetian decor. An excellent breakfast; a good range of choice, with particularly memorable melt-in-the-mouth pastries, along with savoury treats and good coffee, tea, juices etc. A warm and friendly staff made for a comfortable and very enjoyable stay. Good location in Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

Scandinavian Hotel is fantastic great location the staff are so helpful & friendly the breakfast is awesome just a little thing room 30 needs a up graded especially the bathroom have go in sideways for toilet the shower is in middle of bath bathroom gets water logged . bigger television too .but the stay was fantastic thank you to the staff.

Lovely hotel, clean and very welcoming staff. Easy walk to main attractions and also local shops / cafes. Would definitely stay again. We arrived at 1am and were easily received. Note : if you want tea / coffee in your room bring your own kettle etc.

Great place to stay in Venice, friendly staff that gave us advice on where to eat and where to go to avoid high tourist areas. The rooms had everything we needed and best part there is an elevator to help bring up your luggage.

Absolute loved this quaint small hotel! First time in Italy and we were quite intimidated by the walkways and getting here but man oh man this place has such character!! Lots of stairs and the elevator is a blast but we LOVED our stay here!! One room at the top of the hotel with a little balcony for us. Lovely bathtub and all the amenities that we needed. It is very dry and hot initially but our bodies acclimated pretty quickly to the air and we got used to it within the first few days. We LOVED the heated drying rack for towels!! We barely heard any noise except for when people would come in but again not that big of an issue. The staff are amazing especially a young fellow named Nicky (Nicket?). His words are so musical and it was lovely to hear him speak. All the staff were very professional and knowledgeable about everything from cheap eating, best places to go etc etc. The cleaning staff are amazing and the buffet for breakfast is by far their best selling point as in my opinion I always love having a big breakfast. Elevator is TINY. If you do not like small spaces DON’T get in. And it says three people don’t try and cram more in there. If you get stuck it WILL suck. Take the stairs instead and just load the luggage in there lol. You’ve been warned!! PROTIP: if you get the bug heavy keys you can leave them at the front desk while you explore Venice. When you return just tell them your room number and they’ll give you the keys for your room. If you lose them it’s a 50 euro change for replacement so don’t lose them!!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Hotel Scandinavia. Having read nearly all the reviews on here before travelling I really didn't know what to expect and was very apprehensive about what we would be facing into, but all of that subsided as soon as we arrived. It is a really lovely hotel. No fancy frills, but very traditional Italian style - marble floors and fabulous modern bathroom. There is a hair dryer and shampoo, but you might want to bring shower gel - only bars of soap were provided. Fresh towels were provided and the room cleaned daily. We didn't have breakfast included so cannot comment on the food. The bed was really comfy and pillows perfect. The only downside was the room we were in was like a sauna - the air con didn't work and there was a fan left in the room for use for that reason we assumed. We travelled in November, so it was cold outside at night, but in that room (No. 35) it felt like mid July!! We managed anyway - the fan kept us cool so we could sleep. The hotel is in a brilliant location - so close to everything. It's the perfect place to stay to be close to all the popular attractions. If we were to travel to Venice again in the future we would stay here again.

Our favorite hotel of our entire Italy trip, Hotel Scandanavia is perfectly located in Venice, picturesque rooms and setting with very helpful front office staff. Would certainly stay again on our next visit!
