Casa Dolce

The location is simply perfect: 2 minutes from Piazza San Marco, 5 minutes from the vaporetto stops, which is very convenient! The room was clean and cozy, there was a kettle and cups, it was very comfortable. The entrance isn't much to look at, but that's just a first impression. However, this is a 10th-12th-century building, which makes it easy to imagine how local Venetians live (the obligatory courtyard-garden in the center, windows, shutters, access to the water...). I highly recommend it!

The room isn't in the hotel itself; you have to pick up the keys there. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The room is actually in a separate building, a bit further away than advertised, but still relatively close to St. Mark's Square. The room is large and could use some modern touches (like a shower), but it's very clean. The bedding is average. There's a café and a supermarket downstairs that offers good value for money.

I was worried after seeing some bad reviews, but it was great. Be aware that the check-in location and the accommodation are different, but the person who guided me was kind and even carried my heavy suitcase. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that there was trash from the previous guest left in the trash can next to the toilet. I liked the amenity soap, which had a great scent. The shower had good water pressure, which was very helpful.

We liked everything, a very unusual for us 16th century building😍, helpful staff😘. Excellent wi-fi. We were very pleased with the kettle with tea accessories🥳. The only downside is that there is no way to contact the hotel via wi-fi, only by phone, if you do not know the language, then this is a problem, since the keys to the room must be picked up at another hotel 350 meters from Casa Dolce.
