Hôtel Chalet Mounier

Hôtel Chalet Mounier

📍 2 Rue de la Chapelle, Venosc
★★★★ 9.7 (45 reviews)

"The group of clients I recently sent to Chalet Mounier experienced nothing short of perfection. From the very beginning, the pre-arrival arrangements were handled with the utmost reliability and efficiency, making the entire process seamless. The hospitality shown to my group was simply flawless. Chalet Mounier is a beautiful, comfortable, and superbly equipped establishment, perfectly situated in a peaceful location slightly off the beaten track. I must also praise the outstanding service provided by the staff, who went above and beyond at every turn. What is more, all of this is offered at a very affordable price considering the high standard of the accommodation and service. In this day and age, it is rare to encounter a place that is so genuinely customer-friendly. It is truly a gem, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this region of the French Alps."

"The "superior apartment" was on the lower ground floor, and stank of feet and chlorine due to being near the boot room and pool. It also looked nothing like the pictures advertised. Dirty plates and cutlery in the cupboards. One lumpy pillow per person, not enough towels or linen for the number of guests. The rooms are not big enough for the amount of people advertised (adults at least, would probably be okay with kids). The boot room / ski storage was mouldy and essentially holes in a wall with a wooden door - nothing gets dry in there! Things were constantly breaking or near breaking. The only benefit of this apartment is the location, other than that you are better off staying elsewhere! Overall, just a disappointing experience - wished we had stayed somewhere else!"

"Well 5th trip to France. Location is good, large hotel, rooms spotless modern great size for a party of 7. The hotel is huge..we did have to request a lower level apartment due to mobility etc...lovely pool sauna and steam room...plenty of towels but would take some of your own in particular for the swim/pool. Resort quite compact...recommended is to book restaurants in advance. The bus is alleged to run every 10/15 minutes to the Jandri which is the central point in particular fir ski school and magic carpet etc...before arriving do some research as it is not as easy to navigate as you may think. Ski rental is possible everywhere...however as not to carry our skis and boots with us each morning and evening back to hotel lockers we hired a rental space at the foot of the Jandri..which wad great for us and the children to walk back to hotel ( buses not dependable). This will cost 5 euros pp per day. Food is accessible fresh bread and a number of supermarkets avaable. Remember to adhere to the request on departure to ensure 400 euros deposit is returned to you..and take pictures as we have on leaving to ensure this...overall a great ski experience fir us all...sadly there is no help from the French but this is across the board in my experience spanning years...shame really...I would recommend the hotel and resort though"

Hôtel Chalet Mounier ★★★★
"The team at Chalet Mounier ensured with had an exceptional holiday. It seemed to us that every aspect had been thought about with care, attention and creativity by a team of people who have real pride and expertise in their jobs. We loved the bar, the delicious cocktails which came with amazing oysters, the food at every meal was at an exceptional level and beautiful to look at, and we were looked after by an incredible team in the restaurant with an encyclopedia of wine! The spa and pool were wonderful and relaxing, especially the outdoor pool surrounded by metres of snow. It was such a treat to be taken to skiing by the amazing reception staff for whom nothing seemed too much trouble. And the whole place smells great!!"

Odalys L'Ours Blanc Résidence ★★★
"The apartment was nothing special. It was very cramped, and the bunk beds were far too small. The equipment was quite poor, and everything in the place looks old and outdated. In my opinion, the price is definitely too high for these conditions. The only big plus is the location – the slopes are great and it’s very close to them."

Résidence Club Mmv les Clarines ★★★
"Just returned from spending Christmas week in this hotel. Cannot fault it. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are based on. We were a family of 6 with older teenagers and we found our 2 bed apartment to be very comfortable. A large sofa bed, bunk beds and a big master bedroom. Two shower and one toilet, but with plenty of public toilets in the hotel this wasn't a problem. Loads of hot water. Perhaps the only improvement would be one more comfy chair. Helpful staff who were happy to point us in the right direction and print-out information when necessary. A great kitchen set up with all the cooking utensils you could need. Large fridge, 3 hobs a dual function oven, offee maker, toaster and dishwasher. You are provided with 6 dishwasher tablets so take more. There is also a washing machine and dryers in the hotel which I believe is €9. You can have breakfast pastries and bread delivered if ordered before 18.00 for 08.00 the next morning, but my husband liked getting up and walking to the local boulangerie. There is access to a small ski area behind the hotel. This benefitted us on the first day of the holiday as most of the lifts were closed on the upper slopes in the main ski range. As a result we were told that there were large queues, however behind the hotel we went up and down the chairlift with no waiting time. For the rest of the holiday it really is less than 10 minutes to the main chair lift. The "hill" down from the hotel is just a 30 second walk. If you can't walk to the lifts the buses are very accessible, and we used it to get to the night skiing which was great fun. Special mention for the ESF ski show which we really enjoyed and the free mulled wine and hot chocolate. The boot room is fine, there are pinchpoints but as a family of 6 we always got out without a problem. We hired our skis from skiset below the hotel. They were really helpful for directions to places and changed boots when needed. We had two really nice meals out at The Spot (build your own burger) and Les Sagnes (tradional fondue, crepes, gallettes etc). Both delicious. All in all we thought the hotel and resort were fabulous and will definitely want to go back."
