Great resort, couldnt get a spa date booked and was disappointed in that but overall great hotel

I visited Sparkling Hills with a friend this week. The resort itself is beautiful. The property is picturesque and the pools/steam rooms are what dreams are made of. However, what they have in amenities, they lack in service. It is near impossible to get a hold of the front desk (calling to make a reservation and also while staying there). The front end staff at the spa were also incredibly rude and impatient. It seemed like we were an inconvenience for booking treatments. We weren’t given any direction on where to go or which appointment came first, and when I walked back to inquire, I was ignored by the employee while she tried to sell product to another customer. I was so thankful for the hairstylist, who took the time to help us and to make it a better experience. Lastly, on our way out of the resort, we decided to pick up some product from the spa. We were promptly scolded for not wearing our robes and told we couldn’t be in there. When I told the staff member, we wanted to buy product, she didn’t help, and proceeded to walk away. Comparing it to other resorts and luxury hotels, it felt really disappointing. I hope they can improve upon this area to make it a more pleasant experience for their visitors.

Our second visit this year to Sparkling Hill, 100% happy with both experiences. The food, the bar, the pools, the Spa and Sauna’s. Staff was excellent, special thanks to the Valet guys for getting our vehicle on short notice so we could take a little drive to visit relatives in the area.

This is our 4th time to Sparkling hill and the staff are on point. Very helpful and attentive. The room has become a bit run down automated blinds on one side didnt work and the other had ocd not being able to stop going up and down independently. The bathroom door should be replaced asap it jams and needs a good arm to close. As for the free breakfast both were served warm to be generous and a lot of people seemed to be sending them back. Friends say I eat like my labrador and even I was disappointed. We had a good 2 day stay the pool view and room view cant be beat but for the price point a bit of a refresh is required.

This is a very special place, but I can’t deny the flaws others have pointed out and they are spot on. First, the positives: - stunning views and rooms are well appointed - the spa, and all its various steam rooms, saunas and scented showers are outstanding - Girdie’s restaurant has incredible views and good food and drinks - breakfast and parking was included, which was great Things that aren’t so great: - the majority of staff are very young, lack experience, aren’t always professional. I had heard that there are often staffing issues as there are often people calling in sick. We experienced that, leading to long waits for breakfast, rooms not being cleaned, etc. - the infinity pool is lovely but not adequate in size nor in loungers, as others point out - the spa facilities don’t open until 2 pm. No steam rooms, saunas, etc until then. The front desk person told us it was due to cost. (This is something they should splurge on.) - check out is 10 am and you can’t access the facilities after that. A bit harsh. - booking breakfast times should be fine before you arrive, as in at least a day ahead. Maybe 2 if you have specific times you need to eat - air con didn’t really cut it. Stuffy at night. I can see how these things are annoying and if there were other hotels in the area one could go to that was a comparable, I would try them. But there is t. And the views alone from our room made it all worthwhile for me.

The Lakeview Penthouse was absolutely gorgeous — spacious and well-designed. It featured a full kitchen, a cozy living room, a large master bedroom, a double shower, and a dry sauna. The bed was very comfortable with fresh, clean linens. The SPA area was beautiful, offering a variety of relaxation rooms and a heated pool, which we truly enjoyed. The only downside was the breakfast — it was rather limited, cold, and small, and we didn’t really enjoy it. Despite that, we were very happy with our stay and would gladly return.

We booked last minute after another hotel let us down. The booking and reception staff were amazing and managed to find us a room. We ended up with a Lake View Double Queen and it is a lovely room. The views are to die for and the rooms are modern and clean and a good size. We ate in the Peak Fine restaurant and the food and service were top class. The pools and spa are amazing and the breakfast thats included with the stay is top notch.

We enjoyed our 30th anniversary here! Four nights of relaxation and peace. We love the saunas and the pools. Breakfast was good, with some gluten-free options We enjoyed Gerni's farmhouse for dinner. They do gluten free schnitzel! The Java place also had gluten free desserts. All staff were courteous and helpful.

Honest review - I was underwhelmed. I've heard of this place for years , when I went it didn't live up to expectations. Spa appointments were near impossible to get, the infinity pool was packed, no lounge chairs available, when I went to leave vallet wasn't on staff yet so I had to go find my own car, the phone rings off the hook, no one ever answers. Now there were upsides for sure, the food was great, servers in the restaurant was lovely, but its very remote and quite pricey for what you get.
