The hotel is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, about a 10-minute walk from the train station. It is only 4 stops away by bus from the train station, which is very convenient. The hotel is French and elegant, with many antique vases and paintings placed inside.

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Grand Hotel Du Lac Vevey this time. The first is that the hardware facilities are too old. The floor of the large lake view room was actually uneven and wobbly when you stepped on it. The water in the bathtub is not flowing smoothly. Breakfast service level was too poor. We ordered breakfast, but the waiter confirmed it twice very rudely. We drove here, and parking outside the hotel costs 40 Swiss francs per night. Remind them to repair the floor when leaving the store. He actually didn't seem to care. The price is absolutely Swiss five-star price, but the service is really terrible. I really don’t know why it received such good reviews in a certain red book. In short, I will not come again, nor will I recommend it to my friends.

We booked a wedding celebration lunch for eight people. At the very beginning we were told that the chef leaves at 13:00 hrs and we need to finish our lunch by then, although we informed the event organizer that the wedding ceremony timing will not allow us to arrive earlier than 13:00 hrs. Extending the timing by 30 min was not accepted, despite my offer to pay extra. So, the canapes for the champagne apero were cancelled. We managed to arrive at 12:20 hrs but this didn't make any difference to the hotel staff. They pushed on with green peas gazpacho to accompany the champagne...No offer for some canapes or at least nuts, as we had time to enjoy the champagne. The meal was substandard on all levels - presentation and quality. All was pre-cooked and of a dubious quality. The tuna tartar was not fresh and presented in a dark plate with some black bread, looking very unappetizing. The beef fillet was OK but accompanied by one semi-sautéed carrot. The cheese seemed that it consisted of leftovers from a previous party and the dessert was fit or a school cooking exercise. There was nobody to meet us upon arrival, we didn't see a singe smile and a sign of welcome. The staff were in a hurry to get rid of us. We paid for two reserved parking places, as one of the cars brought a disabled person in wheel chair. When we arrived there were no parking places reserved. We needed to maneuver the wheel chair in the rain around a smelly delivery truck, which was plugged in to charge its batteries exactly opposite the disabled lift. There was nobody from the hotel staff to help. The hotel still charge the parking fee. Absolutely appalling experience! This is not a five star hotel!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Hotel Du Lac is a gem on the shore of Lake Geneva. We were welcomed with open arms from the time we pulled in front of the hotel. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with breathtaking views of the lake.

Relais & Chateaux hotels have never disappointed us and the Grand Hotel du Lac is no exception! Wonderful hotel and they upgraded us to a lakeside room with balcony—beautiful! Staff very friendly, professional and accommodating and what you would expect from a luxury hotel. Thank you for a memorable experience in Montreux!

Beautiful hotel with old fashioned standards which was a pleasure However , disappointing for a guest who has mobility issues because they do not have a completely accessible room. This could be easily sorted by installing a high level toilet and installing bars in the shower and toilet plus a full sized anti slip mat

Do not assume a view with a room if you book one. They will not honor even if pre-paid. There is a pompous, patronizing general manager who does not meet the level of expectations for a R&C property. He will do nothing for you but make you feel a fool. There is a lovely hotel on the water with much better and more plentiful view rooms. I would stay there next time - Hotel Des Trois Courrones.

Grand Hotel du Lac in Vevey is one of my favourite places in Switzerland. I loved my time here. The view is incredible, the staff were amazing and the pool and spa the most relaxing I’ve experienced. The restaurants, bar and breakfast are all divine and staff wonderfully friendly. Particular thanks to Yuliia, Leïla and Lucas for excellent communication and in-house guest experience, Janne in the SPA for incredible care and the best service I’ve ever received. Also to the fantastic chamber staff for their friendly and helpful attitude. A beautiful retreat for calm and reenergising.

We were fortunate enough to be treated to three nights in this very special hotel and enjoyed it immensely. Beatiful inside and out, with excellent, frinedly service especially from the staff on reception. I thought it might feel more formal than I would be cofortable with, but found that this was not so, apart, perhaps, from the service in the dinng room, which was a little formal. But the food was wonderful.

The double bed was two single beds made it. Some hotels do it, too. But with only one thin layer of Sheet was not acceptable! I was fallen to the gap many times during night. Noises cancellation was not good either, I could hear people talking and coughing and when they use the bathroom. I didn’t sleep well, not recommend
