Hotel San Francisco

The room was very clean, although it was a little on the small side. The breakfast buffet had a limited selection, but everything was fresh and enjoyable. The highlight was having breakfast on the rooftop terrace, which offered stunning views and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would happily stay here again.

I hope this review helps someone thinking of booking here. The hotel itself was very disappointing. They messed up our booking and we were given a tiny dark room to the side of the building with a small window looking out to a shady side street. The room although dark and uninviting was spotless and the cleaners changed sheets and towels every day. Reception staff were friendly especially the man who worked during the nights. The hotel had a beautiful rooftop terrace for breakfast but lacked any communal areas to sit. No pool or bar. There was a redundant bar behind reception. The location was the best thing going for it as it was only a few metres from the beach . The sea was very dangerous for swimmers and had several areas where there were holes and canals in the seabed so you could find yourself out of depth quite easily. Although there were pros and cons to hotel SF , we made the most of our stay but I don't think we'd return. It gave more hostel vibes as opposed to hotel vibes . Hope this review was useful

Very freindly very wecoming hotel ,all the staff are so friendly and will help u in anyway they can ,there outside areas and inside areas which make it a gem of a place too eat and breakfast we always looked forward too, thankyou too marco and isabella for starting our day so vibrantly ,the roo.s are well catered for and we had a great service always immaculaten on our daliy return from sightseeing ,thearea which the hotel is located from resturants shops and promanade is just perfect and views from the hotel are outstanding ,if you arriving from trainstation its a good walk anything from 20,too 30 minutes there are taxis so no issues at all ,we would certainly reccommend a holiday here as davide the manager was a joy too interact with so many thanks ww most certaily return again

Nice place across from beach easy access to Everything

Last year we stayed at Hotel San Francisco in Viareggio, and it was a no- brainer to stay there again when we returned this year. Again, an outstanding experience from start to finish. Owner Davide is on site, and there’s a family- feel to the place. The receptionists are all very friendly and helpful, advising, answering our endless questions and offering to print out train timetables. Gabriele and Dori were outstanding. The hotel’s location right on the promenade offers breathtaking views of the sea, and it’s well worth getting a room with a private balcony. Each morning, waking up to the sight of the sparkling Mediterranean was an absolute delight. The beds were very comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did an amazing job keeping everything immaculate throughout our stay. This is old school Italy, with the ladies buzzing around looking very smart in their uniforms, and noticing what you’re using and the lovely Bettina leaving more of it on a daily basis. One of the highlights was the breakfast, on the sunny roof with sea views. With a spread of fresh fruits, pastries and cheeses, the stand out was the made to order traditional Italian coffee. It was wonderful to see the same team again. Gianluca, Silvia and Carmen take a real pride in looking after their guests. The staff truly made the experience special. Location-wise, you can’t beat it as it is on the beach. Viareggio’s vibrant promenade, with its shops, cafes, and charming atmosphere, is right at your doorstep. It’s a wonderful base for exploring Tuscany’s other gems like Pisa and Lucca, yet there’s plenty to enjoy without leaving Viareggio itself.

My 2nd stay and just as I remembered. A big shout out to the gentleman in the breakfast room who is not only kind and efficient but also make an excellent cappuccino...grazzi!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I just got back from another fantastic stay at Hotel San Francisco in Viareggio, and I can't say enough good things about it! The view from my room was absolutely stunning—I loved waking up to the gorgeous coastline and watching the sunrise over the sea every morning. Breakfast was another highlight. They had a great spread of delicious options, from fresh pastries to local cheeses, and the coffee was spot on! It really set the tone for a perfect day. But what really made my stay special was the staff. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and eager to help with anything I needed. They made me feel right at home. If you’re heading to Viareggio, I highly recommend staying here. It’s the perfect mix of beautiful views, tasty food, and top-notch service!
