Good location but hotel needs an update, looking a bit tired

The location and price are certainly what makes this hotel most attractive. Upon checking in, we were greeted by two extremely competent and kind staff members. This was a theme throughout the stay: staff was always around and ready to help whenever needed! The hotel itself is exactly what the other reviews and images show; it is an old hotel with some minor cosmetic renovations. The hotel was clean, but it was a bit rough around the edges. For example, there was no usable AC in our room; instead, our room had a small oscillating fan sitting on the TV stand. The towel rack in the bathroom was literally ripped off the wall and hanging by a thread. Do not expect a luxury stay, but do expect kind staff and a great location.

Clean and great service from the front counter to housekeeping. We booked a room for 4 people. Had only 2 towels. Other than that generally not bad value for money.

Salomon Solomon, the staff was so rude and I almost had to pay 100 dollars more for the deposit because they rip me off. I barely got my deposit back the next day after talking to another staff member. The soundproofing was so bad that I could hear everything outside. If you have other options, just go somewhere else. I don't think I'll come back next time I travel.

I had to take a bus the next day, so I urgently looked for accommodation that met my needs, and this time I chose a room with a kitchen. The room was very large, comfortable and well soundproofed. There is also a swimming pool and a gym. Coffee is provided in the lobby, and the staff is simple and reasonable. However, the decoration is in an earlier American style. I wonder if you can accept it!

Since I went there during the hot season of summer, I didn’t notice that the website didn’t state that the hotel does not have in-room cooling air conditioning. There was a small fan in room 204, and the window could not be turned on for ventilation. I stayed for two nights. When I picked up the room, the hotel staff told me that the hotel had no vacancies and no room could be changed. Even contacting trip.com customer service could not solve the problem of changing hotels. I couldn't have a good rest on the first night. The lady on duty at night was empathetic and told me that the hotel was not fully booked. The hotel staff did not change the room until the next day when the hotel staff notified the manager. There was no western sun and ventilation. The hotel staff highly recommended 👍🏼 which made my trip to Victoria perfect. In summer, hotels without air conditioning are not recommended, and it is also recommended that websites state that there is no air conditioning.

The person in charge at the front desk seemed busy but very kind. There was free coffee at the front desk and I used it many times. Location is good. The hotel had a room with a bathtub, so it was comfortable. There are no slippers, so I'm in trouble if I don't bring them.
