Phongsavath Boutique Hotel

The hotel provides good and clean facilities for an overnight stay, as I was taking the Laos-China HSR the next day. Breakfast is reasonably, but don't expect a wide buffet spread as this hotel does not have too many rooms. You can walk to the Mekong river night market, and there are several night spots just outside the hotel on the main street. The service staff speaks English well, and they are helpful. However, it is not near any public transport hubs to the normal train station and also the HSR train station. Hence, I first relied on LOCA app (the local version of Grab) to get around. But LOCA is expensive compared to "KOK-KOK Move". I chanced upon this and took the EV tuk-tuks and also the saloon car later. The EV tuk-tuks pricing is more reasonable for short distances.

It’s certainly a great hotel, very clean, fantastic location, friendly staff etc. The sound insulation in the room could be better though. I stayed in a room on the first floor and I could hear water leaking, people walking around, and talking. It was difficult to rest properly as I’m a light sleeper.

Located down a quiet alley that runs parallel with the Hilton hotel. Rooms are well appointed with quality hardwood furnishings.
