"The house is very beautiful. The 78-year-old grandmother is very individual and has her own principles but is very enthusiastic. She will provide everything you need as long as you have it. It is more like a small home than staying in a hotel, but it has more space than home. The price is also very economical compared to other places. It is a very good experience. Highly recommended!"

"The open balcony was photogenic, but swarming with bugs at night. Even with a mosquito net, the bugs would crawl inside. I suspect the sheets weren't washed properly; they were dark and invisible at night, but during the day they were covered in black dots, probably insects. I woke up itchy in the morning. There weren't many birds during the day, but their calls were incredibly loud in the early morning. I didn't see any negative reviews on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform); they're really tight-lipped! I recommend a day trip if you're going to visit the island. The showers and bathing areas are also completely open-air, facing the main road leading to the guesthouse."

"Our stay at Casa de Tortuga in Vieques was disappointing. When we arrived, we were informed that the island was experiencing a power outage. We completely understood that this was outside of the owner’s control, and we chose to make the best of the situation and “rough it” for our stay. Unfortunately, the condition of the unit was a separate issue that could have been controlled. The cleanliness was not acceptable. The space was at a level where we felt we needed to keep our shower shoes on, and we encountered numerous bugs throughout the unit. This was especially concerning since, due to the lack of electricity, we weren’t even able to store food or have items that would typically attract pests. We were prepared to deal with the inconvenience of no power, but the overall cleanliness and condition of the property made the experience much less enjoyable. Better maintenance and attention to cleanliness would have made a significant difference. The owner did give us $100 Off which was very nice!"

There is a beach but not for swimming, and no shadow at the pool at all."

"The apartment is very clean and the location is very good, not far from the Fluorescent Lake. The only drawback is that you have to go upstairs, the owner's luggage cannot be moved up or down, there is no elevator, and a $50 security deposit is required."
