Well maintained stay! The host is passionate about running this stay. The stay is designed with the theme of a post office as it is part of the post office building. This is one the best place I have stayed.

Holy cannoli, this place is phenomenal! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Paolo, the owner, isn’t just running a hotel — he’s curating a five-star life experience. Every single detail feels thoughtful, intentional, and done with care. And get this — the building is a beautifully refurbished old post office, and Paolo kept some of the original artifacts and design touches, which give the place a cool, familiar charm in a luxurious setting. It’s like sleeping in history, but with top-shelf comfort and espresso on demand. Speaking of espresso… let me talk about the coffee machine in the guest kitchen. I’m not saying I became a professional barista overnight, but I did start naming my cappuccinos. Espresso? Boom. Latte? Boom boom. Even my wife was impressed. “You sure you didn’t go to barista school behind my back?” Now, let’s get into the towels. I’m a big guy. Usually hotel towels are one washcloth short of a joke — but these? Huge and fluffy. The kind that makes you look forward to getting out of the shower. And the bed? Like sleeping on the softest cloud in the sky, cradled by angels who know how to do hospitality. The location is also a dream. Walkable to everything — cafés, restaurants, charming little shops. The town has that old-world Portuguese beauty that makes you want to slow down and just be. It’s peaceful but not boring. Scenic but not fake. Authentic in the best way. Bottom line: If you’re thinking of staying in Vila Real, don’t wait. Book it. Thank me later. Or better yet, thank Paolo — part hotelier, part historian, part magician. This place is a gem.

Historic post office made into 5 suites. Lovely. But ask for instructions on where to park and how to enter. Hard to find.

My husband was assigned Vila Real for his AIMA appointment. Upon a recommendation of someone else, we booked a room. Magnificent old post office conversion! Super host, extremely accommodating. Bed 10/10 as well as bathroom . Great accessibility, great hiking and walking nearby. Great for couples

The owner, Paulo, has done a sympathetic and artistic conversion of the old post office in Vila Real. Everything is done to a high standard. The four suites are spacious, each with microwave, fridge and small sink. There is a separate kitchen shared between the suites with full sized oven, dishwasher, luxury coffee machine. We had the green suite which had small sofa and chair plus dining table and chairs. All pristine and fresh. We have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

This property is a boutique hotel brand new with the best of everything from the towels to linens to amenities all where the best I would consider this a 5 star stay and a 10 out of 10 …… will definitely return
