Best Hotels in Vinh Long, Vietnam

This was a real surprise. I was sent here by my travel agent, Nguyen Hoai at VivuTravel in Ha Noi. This is REALLY out in the countryside. The roads kept getting smaller and smaller until the car wouldn't fit any more and we had to shift over to a golf cart. Eventually, we worked our way through jungle trails until we came to this lovely pond with small individual huts on its banks. Each hut is a separate accommodation with its own deck. You can fish for fish or shrimp off your deck. Since this is Vietnam, you use rice for bait. I thought it was going to be a quiet evening alongside the water listening to the crickets until the karaoke started blasting me from somewhere off in the jungle. I don't know what it is about Viet Nam, but they seem to have these wonderful, peaceful, idyllic jungle or seaside settings that are perfect for reading, writing, or just sitting and enjoying the sunset. Then they destroy them by blasting them with loud, thumping drum synthesizers and off-key singing at volumes that could knock down a small building. Fortunately, the noise pollution didn't last too long and it didn't disrupt my sleep. I've had worse. Karaoke is the Japanese's revenge for losing World War II. It has been the bane of my travels throughout Southeast Asia. Anyway, it is a lovely location and definitely worth a visit. Bring ear plugs because you might get some bozo sharing his idea of thumping noise with you from several kilometres away. And it is HOT. Wow. Penguins are never going to migrate to the Mekong Delta. If your wife or girlfriend is always complaining about how cold it is, bring her here. No sane person could complain about being cold at the southern end of Vietnam. There is where Hell sends requests for more heat when it gets too cold down there. They have plenty to spare, believe me. But still worth a visit. You can get away from civilization and into the deep jungle. At night you can listen to the thumping drum synthesizers of the natives and pretend you are in a Tarzan movie. I have to commend VivuTravel and my travel agent, Hoai. I've been traveling in Southeast Asia for four months and every place I've been has been a unique experience. This is a relatively new facility but one which is worth a visit before it gets discovered and is swarming with tourists. That's the trouble with the world -- too many foreigners out there. See it now while you still can.

The hotel is clean, the staff is very enthusiastic. I really like the free cafe and cakes area for guests staying at the hotel. Because I arrived earlier than expected at 11:30, luckily at the beginning of the week, there was a room that was very happy for me to check in early without charge.

This hotel is in a nice location, not far from the river, quiet in the evenings. Not far from important places. It is a large hotel with big rooms, large reception area, easy parking, has a grand feeling to it. But the hotel is not being kept up well. Walls have marks on them, carpets have stains, it looks and feels old. And so instead of making renovations and modern changes, they include breakfast buffets and lower the price some days. It’s too bad, I’m sure when the hotel first opened, many people talked about it.

I like this hotel and may stay there again if I am in Can Tho. The staff were very friendly. The location is excellent, near the busy area by the river. There are plenty of dining options and shops nearby. The bed was comfortable and quite big (seemed wider than a regular King size bed). Breakfast was good.

The hotel has a very modern design with youthful colors, a comfortable space with games in the lobby, and enthusiastic and attentive staff. Especially the staff here are very welcoming like Trinh, Tuong, Van and are very supportive ^^. I plan to have a business trip to Can Tho and will stay at SOJO hotel!!!

The environment is really great, the island is left alone, there are lush ancient banyan trees everywhere, the rooms are sanitary twice a day, the quality of the hotel staff is also very good, and they smile every time they meet. On the island, you can ride a bicycle and dance with nature in the fragrance of lotus. It is really beautiful! The most important thing is that in this fight against the epidemic, the hotel staff did not exclude the Chinese, helped us prepare all the items we needed, consulted on our flight situation many times, and made us feel the warmth of home in a foreign land. So far, the only hotel that is not tired after staying for six nights.

Con Khuong Resort Rooms are great. Big. Spacious, super clean and a big bath with full scenic views as it opens into the bedroom with a glass pane that could be closed off with a screen. It had a stunning floating tub that I enjoyed particulary! The balcony was spacious and overlooked the pool. We had a double room, deluxe. The scenery from the balcony was incredible. It had complete privacy as it had treetops and a gorgeous river view beyond the pool views which were right below. They arranged for netflix connectivity on the smart tv as soon as we requested. The rooms are new and well maintained. The resort is well run. From time we checked in things went smoothly and every request from the room was taken seriously and responded to at once. Check out was delayed by some unwarranted time. Took almost 20 min from the time we came out from our room though we checked out at the same time we had informed them prevous day. So not sure why so much delay even if they wanted to check the rooms. Most hotels take negligible time even if they wait for the room check as its merely a formality and all the bills ought to be ready. With the result our cab was made to wait for 20 min as it had came on time for airport drop! The pool service was lacking. The pool itself is strangely designed in depth . Its sloping sharply from 0.5m to 1.6m in a very narrow distance so felt odd . Also there were no pools handles to hold on to walking in and out of it. So getting in and out was very challenging. Especially so for those with accessibility issues and for senior citizens. Not to mention dangerous as well as the risk of slipping is high. Also the pool deck area has no accessibility slope so had steps or was one really high height to access . Other than that the pool was lovely and very relaxing as it was exquisetely set admist a lotus water garden of pink and white giant lotuses. The whole resort garden was beautifully maintained. Pool service itself was poor. Nobody to get the towels or clear the dirty ones off the loungers. Nor was there any proper service. Every time I would have to go over all the way up to the pool bar and cafe and ask for a menu or for somebody to come and take an order. At times I had to stand for a really long time at the pool deck and look for somebody to come attend or catch an attendants attention. The showers were in a really odd far off place and in a closed off room so had to walk all the way there which entailed a lot of steps again. It would have been easy if there were an open shower by the pool area. The resort itself is very serene and calm and right by the river. The location is sublime and you can enjoy the beatitude and calm that envelops the place naturally. I really was looking forward to enjoying the balcony. But it was ruined by nightfall as it has a big light that comes on automatically. So we cannot enjoy it the way we like. Ideally I like to sit at dusk and enjoy the birds and the fading light. great. The pool is nice and the staff service is good, but the dinner doesn't seem to be good compared to the price. Eat a lot for breakfast Since it is not a tourist destination like Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, Koreans have dinner and breakfast, so those who are not good at coriander may have a hard time.
