The flimsy bed felt like it could collapse at any moment, and there were bugs everywhere. To top it off, I was woken up by loud train noises in the middle of the night."

"We loved visiting Store Ringheim and wish we could've stayed longer! The property is beautiful and I love the generational family history of it. The meals were all excellent and we tried Aquavit (special Norwegian liquor) here for the first time at dinner. We had a large, cozy room with a wood-burning fireplace. The owner was kind enough to give us a ride to the Voss train station in the morning. Overall wonderful experience. Thank you for hosting us!"

"Quiet, cozy, simple lodging off the beaten path. The lodge is old but obviously loved, next to a small but roaring river. Staff were very accommodating about our accidental late arrival, had excellent recommendations for the nearby hiking opportunities, and served great food. Patrons are welcome to take extra bread and sandwich material for lunches at a small cost. Rooms were small and utilitarian but comfortable; guests are asked to make their own beds upon arrival and to strip the beds down upon departure. Wish we stayed more than two nights here- this was definitely a highlight of our trip."

"This is my first time leaving a negative review. The hygiene here is unbelievably bad, truly shocking. The lounge chairs and play beds in the lobby were stained, and don't even get me started on the room—the floor was mottled and yellowed. What's even harder to comprehend is that the hotel didn't even bother to clean its own facade: the revolving door was covered in layers of dust. Even a small hotel in a third-tier city in China wouldn't be this bad. My romanticized view of Nordic hotels has been shattered. I assume this is likely due to labor shortages and high costs."

"This is an antique-style hotel, said to be over a hundred years old. The lake is just across the road, and the scenery should be quite nice on a clear day. The hotel's furnishings and facilities exude an 'old money' vibe. Perhaps Europeans appreciate this sense of history and aged charm. While I found it novel, the hotel is simply too old! Historical charm doesn't necessarily make for a comfortable stay, and the price is quite steep. Maybe there aren't many options in Voss, and Fleischers is considered one of the better ones, so they don't lack guests. I wouldn't recommend it to friends. Very low value for money!"

"We had a very comfortable and relaxing night at the hotel. We had dinner which was delicious. Our server Sonya was so welcoming and made sure our 11 year old son had a meal option that excited him. The room was cozy and quiet. We had a wonderful sleep. After a long day of hiking the warm shower and comfortable room were so appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was made up of salmon and meat smoked on site, homemade jam. It was fresh and delicious."

"Mountain lodge-like structure. Very beautiful setting, near a river. Rather isolated, perfect for hiking in the surrounding area, less so as a base for exploring the area due to the long road to get there (though the views are beautiful). Rooms: Bunk beds. We had a room for four, with a private bathroom. Spartan. Only one towel per person. Bed linens and beds need making. Duvets and pillows are quite worn. However, clean and comfortable beds. Very nice, spacious, homely lobby. Typical, homemade breakfast, good. Good dinner, the same for everyone, with no choice except for pizza day. However, expensive compared to other Norwegian dinners. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful! I recommend this structure for hikers."
