The most cost-effective hotel in the whole trip, we booked a sea view room for more than 1,000 yuan, including buffet dinner and breakfast for two people, and the front desk also upgraded us to a sea view suite. The last public building designed by the Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa before his death was really surprising, like the upgraded version of the Jetway Lagoon Hotel in Negombo designed by him. The water from the fountain flows into the infinity pool, and in the distance are the waves of the Indian Ocean. If you are not a fan of Bawa, you will feel that this hotel is not exquisite, luxurious or modern enough.

The building seems to be popular under the name of Bawa, but the service did not seem to match.
There were three negative points.
First, there were an unusually large number of crows and herons. They were bathing in the pool and the various things that had accumulated on the edge of the pool made it clear that it was not very hygienic.
By the way, the room was very well cleaned.
Secondly, the in-room dining service that you order via WhatsApp was not working. Even after I ordered, it was never read and never brought.
Finally, the breakfast that I had requested by email when making the reservation did not arrive. I ordered a light meal to take motion sickness medicine as I was leaving early in the morning, but I ended up leaving without breakfast, which was disappointing.

It was a hotel by the sea where you can enjoy a resort feeling! The room was spacious and the food was delicious!

We had a fabulous time at the Blue Water hotel Wadduwa. This was our 10th and final hotel we stayed at after touring all of Sri Lanka in June 25, spending 5 days here. It was by far one of the best and the one to beat! Great room, balcony with pool/sea view. Very comfortable bed, good air-conditioning. Pools were fab ,and the coolest! ,pool staff helpful . The main restaurant was superb. Lovely welcome each day from all the staff ,excellent service, special mention for our waitress Kaveesha who was very professional, attentive and always service with a smile. Great selection of Sri Lankan & European food and off high standard. Also 2 other restaurants in situ, one serving Chinese food. Lovely bar, great ambience. Something other hotels lacked.

This hotel was our 2nd choice upgraded by our tour company. 5 star The hotel is very nice but a little outdated in areas and needs a little care and attention. The staff are very good . The food also is good but a little short on variety. It is peaceful and in low season very quiet. I can recommend it to anyone seeking a good rest.
