The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the porters, pool boys, waiters to bar staff and management, everyone was great. The rooms were serviced every day and kept clean. If there is a negative it was the hotel not being easily accessible to the sea/beach. The food was always hot, but unfortunately when I stayed the vegetables were not cooked and the menus didn't get changed much. The cooking staff were faultless in their delivery of meals. Overall a great stay and enjoyable holiday at the Tangerine Hotel

We have just returned after spending a week at this lovely hotel where the staff worked very hard to make your stay an enjoyable experience. My birthday co-insided with our stay and the staff made a real effort in the room which really made it a special day and the evening meal was accompanied with a birthday cake and a burst of Happy Birthday a lovely touch indeed. Our room overlooked the pool and sea and despite the overcast conditions which were unexpected during our stay we managed to make the most of the facilities using the free half hour massage which was excellent though I did not get a chance to use the gym which was very well equipped indeed. Meals were generally quite good although the dining room was very busy at breakfast and dinner where there were little manners on show by many of the guests and the high expectation of the dress code I had read about prior to traveling was non-existent so do not worry about bringing too many pairs of long trousers guys as you will not need to wear them as I had expected! The room was very nice and spacious, you may need a few extra hangers but everything else is supplied and the room staff including the evening check by the housekeeping team was a nice touch were excellent and the room was kept to a very high standard ..well done! my only issue was the mattress which was very hard as I did not have a full nights sleep throughout the stay there though I did not complain as everything else was great. Entertainment at night was good but such a shame it was not better supported where the artists were excellent with possibly the exception of the magician. I must say we were pleasantly surprised to find we were allowed two glasses of wine each with our lunch and dinner a real bonus when we were not expecting this treat! So overall a good visit, lovely hotel, great staff who go out of their way to make the stay special...Thank you

We've just returned from two weeks at the Tangerine Beach hotel - our 3rd visit to this lovely place. It was purely to be a R&R holiday, as we had toured Sri Lanka before and didn't need to go rushing all over the country. The biggest asset this hotel has is it's staff. Every one of them without exception had a smile on their face, were kind, friendly, helpful & couldn't do enough for us. Checking in was seamless, our room boy made himself known to us, and we were in the bar before we had unpacked. Remember to take coat hangers, we only had 4 in our room. There is no need to worry as water is provided, two bottles in the morning, then again at night there is an evening service. They will top up your water supplies, tea bags etc if required, and turn down your bed. Most electric sockets are like our own, but there were no USB sockets - so don't forget your adaptor. Management do make a fuss of you when you've stayed before. We had an ocean view reserved table in the restaurant for our entire holiday, organised by Mr Supervisor in the red shirt. We did enjoy chatting to him and nothing was too much trouble for him, a big thank you (you know who you are). Also a lady from our 1st 2 visits remembered us, it was lovely to see her again. We had early morning tea on the balcony watching the pool being vacuumed by Manesh. He always waved & set up our loungers & towels for us. The whole pool team were brilliant and work really hard. Plenty of towels are available, but the lounger cushions could now do with being updated. We were bitten quite regularly by mozzies at dusk, especially if it had been raining. You need jungle formula stuff and a soothing after bite lotion too. We did get to know the bar staff too, pina colada, gin fizz but alas not much wine available. Lion beer is like lager, rather gassy. We were invited to a special 'returners dinner' 2 days before we came home. Just for the 2 of us, outside by the sea. There were so many courses of luscious food we just couldn't manage it all, but we did have a good try! We were made to feel really special, and at the end there were fireworks and a gift of Ceylon tea. This was arranged by the management who said they so appreciated our returning custom. Thank you so much for looking after us so well. Unfortunately since our last visit the beach has all but disappeared. The sea is very rough, and the red flag was flying during our entire visit. There is good security along the length of the hotel grounds, where they keep their eye on anyone who does go into the sea. Nearest supermarket is up the top of the road, cross over on the crossing as road is really busy. Then turn left and it's just along a little way. Called Keells it stocks everything from mosquito spray to loose rice and tea bags. We felt very emotional when we left, staff members wished us well, and also asked how we'd enjoyed our returners dinner. Lots of hugs and hand shakes. A really lovely holiday, thank you everyo

I have to mention this, your hotel is one of the most beautiful place and beautiful with the people. Starting from bellboy Namal, he is so helpful and while we going in to the room he explained us almost everything about hotel . Next is bar and restaurant staff , they are always smiling and good service. I think on my visit hotel was almost full, but restaurants people didn’t miss anything what we were asking . I had 2 years baby and they gave us extra care even . Room service guy was amazing . Kavisha was attending to us even when we call at night time . Thank you for all people who take care of us . Definitely we will come back .

Amazing hotel in Kalutara, we read a lot about average quality of the hotels in ShriLanks and selected this hotel as the best hotel, it really hotel even exceed our expectations. Nice territory and the pool, room cleaning every day. We had a room number 345, it was clean, spacious and cute. We celebrated anniversary, got free cake and greetings from the hotel, had fresh flowers every day in the room. Nice live music every evening. There was a nice guy Amila from the front desk who did for us even more than we asked at any time. There is no beach at the hotel, shoreline is protected by the stones because sea eats a part of it, but 100m on the right side there is a good beach, and you can swim there if the waves are small. I swam also on the hotel beach whe was the low tide. Want to stay there again next time.
