We stayed in this property for 2 nights - Ameer Tent. As the property is only accessible by a 4*4 vehicle, we had to ask hotel to arrange for a shuttle service to and fro. Overall the stay was very comfortable and staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast and dinner spread was good. My kid really enjoyed at the play area. Following points wherein property needs to work on 1. Wifi is only available at reception and restaurant area. As I was carrying some work and travelling with a kid, I felt that wifi should have been across all the resort and not at just specific areas 2. There was no dedicated landline number to dial for reception. They had give a cell number but as I was having network issue with Omantel carrier, it was not always working. It was really uncomfortable to go to reception and ask for help. 3. The hotel should provide room to reception / activities buggy to at-least family with small kids and elderly persons. We were informed that buggy was only user to carry luggage. 4. The activities for the desert were really expensive even though we enjoyed quad biking a lot ! Overall the stay was very satisfying and we would love to visit again.

It costs 25 riyals to go from the town to the desert hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, I found that there was no wifi and my mobile phone signal was also very poor. I was in a state of isolation. There was no phone in the room. I needed to go to the front desk and wait for the shuttle bus. There was only a bed and a toilet in the room, which is not very recommended.

After the reservation is successful, the hotel will send some emails about how to get there. Be sure to check them. If you need a connection or a guide, try to communicate by phone in advance to ensure that the connection is smooth. The fee is 42 local currency The camp is in the heart of the desert. The vast desert is full of stars.

The best place to stay while visiting Wahiba desert! It exceeded all our expectations. The staff are super attentive, always making sure that all your needs are met. The room itself was fantastic, it was even better in real life then in the pictures. The pool was clean and so refreshing during the hot summer days. We also went on an ATP trip which was great. Getting to the location was easy, as we received a free escort in to the camp - but without an escort it also would be easy to navigate, as the hotel provided us with instructions on which app/map to use. The atmosphere in the hotel was amazing, from the entrance with the old traditional wooden doors to the restaurant decorated with lovely ceramics and textiles. The place is simply beautiful. A special thanks for giving us extra attention on our honeymoon.

The camp is such a peaceful and relaxing place to unwind. The restaurant offers a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. The fresh grilled seafood was especially flavorful and perfectly cooked. Staff we’re all so friendly and accomodationg from the reception to the restaurants.

What a brilliant stay we had. Communication was great. We chose to get the guide to assist us from Bediyah because we are not experienced off-road drivers and planned to arrive after dark. Yes, its 20 OMR, and once we'd done it we probably could have done it ourselves but for peace of mind and no stress I am happy we did it. If you're a confident driver and are arriving in the day then follow the black telegraph poles and you'll be fine. We drove ourselves back in the day with no issue but we're still happy with the initial guide. Make sure to pay one of the local air stalls to deflate and reinflate your tires as you enter/leave the desert. The camp itself is beautiful and all the staff we met couldn't do more for us. We stayed in the sandhouse and it was perfect. Such a comfy bed, black out blinds and brilliant views. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. Great selection of Omani, Indian and International dishes at the buffet with seafood, pasta and meats cooked to order. The campfire with tea, coffee and marshamallows in the evening was a lovely touch. There's a games area with a childrens trampoline and slide and a pool table if you want to use it in the evening. The staff were really engaging, checking we were happy and asking about our day without being overbearing. The pool area is a welcome break from the heat. It wasnt particularly busy when we stayed so we got sunbeds easily but I'd imagine if the site was full it might be a bit harder. For the reviews that complain about the pricing - you're 40km outside of any town, the prices are on par with what we paid for food and drinks in a chain hotel in Muscat and the standard was much higher. I think the prices are fair for the demographic the camp is aimed at and the service is exceptional. Thank you for a great stay. You obviously care about the experience everyone has and we would recommend the site to anyone.

even if you book „deluxe“ you will end up in a tent without a phone and a minibar filled with the pricelist only. so you can neither call a buggy to fetch you nor order anything for your minibar. but despair not. even if you do have a phone - like we did after changing the room - chances are that nobody will answer it. when you then walk down to the front desk you will find three people sitting there doing their own little thing. next you will book your buggy there. after a delay of half an hour you flag this to the present staff. they will show you a list with names and pick-up times to prove they have done their job. that this document in no way reflects reality is not of their concern. wifi is virtually nonexistent. eventually they will tell you that their capacity is good for 2-3 guests only, but not befor sending you in circles from reception to the restaurant to the lounge and back again, always pretending there will be a signal in just the next place. so why do they still get 3 points ? food is good and staff helpful in the restaurant. activities are well accepted by guests, like quad bikes, camel rides etc. talking about camels: they are not able to take you far enough away from the garbage that is omnipresent in the vicinity of the camp. the place is also popular with locals and expats, not everybody is educated to care about the environment. the camp should initiate a clean-up operation every now and then.
