"There are only a handful of top-rated hotels in Wakayama. I deliberated between this one and the one located at the JR station, ultimately choosing this hotel because of reviews mentioning Wakayama Castle views and a good breakfast, though I was slightly worried about transportation.
My actual experience proved transport to be very convenient; a bus ride was just over ten minutes and dropped me off right at the hotel's doorstep. After checking in and going up to my room, I eagerly pulled back the curtains and was instantly thrilled to see Wakayama Castle, majestically framed by the twilight hills and a purple sky. The room was quite spacious, featuring a small sofa seating area by the window. There was ample space to open two suitcases without any issue. After a quick tidy-up, I couldn't wait to head out and explore.
Though Wakayama Castle may not be as renowned as the four great ancient castles, its charm lies in its remarkably welcoming and accessible design. The path circling the castle walls is open to the public, and you can easily enter by crossing a small bridge over the moat. It was pleasant to see locals strolling and jogging around. After a half-lap exploration, I found the perfect spot for night photos and was extremely pleased with the view.
Breakfast on the second day was served at a Japanese-Western fusion restaurant downstairs. The food selection was extensive, and the quality was excellent—truly impeccable. There's also a soba noodle shop within the building, which was delicious and reasonably priced. I had read reviews previously suggesting there weren't many dining options near the hotel, but actually, there are several restaurants and a convenience store right inside the building, which was fantastic.
Overall, it was a very satisfying stay."
"On my first day in Japan, I checked into this hotel, which is incredibly conveniently located right around the corner from the JR station exit. It was absolutely no hassle with luggage.
The hotel room was clean and featured large floor-to-ceiling windows. Unfortunately, I arrived too late to experience the rooftop spa.
Breakfast comes highly recommended, offering panoramic sea views through its three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, and the food selection was abundant.
From the JR platform, it's easy to transfer to services heading to attractions like the Cat Train line and Shirahama.
The commercial complex on the hotel's second floor houses a food street and a local artisan market.
Directly from the hotel's second floor, you can access the Wakayama City Library. If you have time, I highly recommend visiting it with children; it's spread over three floors, and my child was thrilled to discover original Detective Conan manga there."
"The hotel is very close to the east exit of Wakayama Station and there is also a convenience store next to it.
I like this chain of business hotels very much. I have stayed in other counties and cities.
It left a very good impression on me. It was very quiet and I slept well when I stayed there.
Next time I go to Japan, I will stay here again."
"This hotel is really old and not very cost-effective. In addition, it was difficult to connect to the hotel's wifi, and it took a long time to set it up with their staff. The location is relatively remote, so it would be better if you drive by yourself. In addition, children without extra beds will be charged separately. If I hadn't booked at last minute and had no choice, I would really want to change hotels."
"This was second stay this year whilst visiting my son. Hotel is a short stroll from main railway station & a large department store with food outlets. Staff at hotel are helpful & polite with a varying grasp of English. The breakfast is reasonable but with room for improvement. For European pallets there was no cheese or cold meats, limited bread choice & only undercooked scrambled eggs but this is common throughout Japan. However, I was disappointed on one aspect. Had been expecting some fresh oranges - Wakayama grows them - on both my visits none appeared. Bicycles are also available for hire & we did this free of charge whilst visiting in April & it was thoroughly enjoyable & a good way to sightsee. I would recommend this hotel."
"The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from JR Wakayama Station. The breakfast was fantastic, and it boasts a public onsen bath and sauna. They also offer complimentary udon noodles in the evening. The staff were wonderfully attentive. The rooms are a good size, and the price offers excellent value for money! We also enjoyed sushi at Umeya, conveniently located right opposite the hotel, where we received a complimentary sushi dish with a coupon from the hotel."
"The hotel is located near Wakayama Station. You need to go out from the east exit of the station. The room is not big. Two big suitcases, one behind the door and one on the luggage rack, can barely be opened at the same time. The room is set up like other hotels, but there is no yukata and coat hanger. The coat hanger is replaced by a simple wooden strip nailed to the wall. It is suitable for short-term stay. There is a coin-operated laundry service downstairs. The only surprise is that this hotel actually provides free breakfast service, with simple breakfast food, such as bread, sandwiches, coffee, drinks, and Japanese breakfast soup, rice balls, side dishes, rice, etc. Good value for money."
"An European styled resort hotel right next to the marina, Porto Europe and the seafood market, the proximity to these facilities makes up for its rather out-of-the-way location. The marina gives the hotel a nice and posh surrounding and scenery. The staff are very helpful and efficient."
"True to its JR West subsidiary roots, the location is excellent. After exiting the central gate of JR Wakayama Station, turn right and the hotel's side entrance is just a 2-minute walk away. The front desk staff are gentle, friendly, and polite.
Next to the hotel are Kintetsu Department Store and Mio. There are also many restaurants, cafes, and local souvenir shops nearby, so you'll have no trouble with dining or shopping. The airport bus stop is right outside the east exit of JR Wakayama Station, and a direct bus takes you to Kansai Airport T2, saving you the hassle of carrying your luggage.
The room is quite spacious, and the hotel has direct access to Kintetsu Department Store on the 5th floor. There's also a lounge and beverage area on the 5th floor where you can make tea, though the drink selection is limited. The observatory on the 7th floor's opening depends on weather conditions."
"We absolutely cannot contain our elation when recalling our recent stay at this remarkable hotel. From the moment we stepped into the elevator adorned with personalized name cards, my husband and I were enveloped in the warm embrace of hospitality. The attention to detail and the genuine kindness of the staff made us feel like VIP guests. They also thoughtfully provided a bucket for us to indulge in the glowing enchantment of firecrackers and even tidied the mess up afterwards.
But the best memory of our stay here was definitely the culinary experience given by the chef extraordinaire — Master Chef Matsuki. His creations were nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. Each dish was a testament to his unwavering dedication and profound respect for the ingredients. Oh, the flavors — titillating all our taste buds in every bite. And the generosity of Chef Matsuki in sharing his culinary wisdom, guiding us on how to savor each morsel, elevated the entire dining experience to sheer perfection.
The language barrier was no obstacle to the remarkable team of staff members who graced us with their presence. Their command of the English language was commendable, and even those who were not entirely fluent went above and beyond to cater to our every whim and need. Their genuine desire to assist us was palpable, leaving us feeling truly valued and cared for.
I am already making plans to return with my beloved family, as I know they too deserve to bask in the unparalleled warmth and luxury that this establishment exudes. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high, redefining the meaning of hospitality and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
So if you seek a hotel experience that transcends mere accommodation and transforms into a symphony of opulence, impeccable service, and culinary artistry, then look no further. This is the epitome of hospitality, a sanctuary where dreams come true, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who craves an unforgettable journey of indulgence and delight."

Great
RRoman.KusIt is a good spot for a solo traveler. Capsules are clean. Towels are provided. There is a small tea and coffee area at the entrance. They also have Chinese-standard plug in the capsule which was handy. Also, I likes the smell of wood.
The worst part is that if you come before check-in, nobody is in there, meaning you will have to stroll around and wait for 16:00.
__CFT010000001165****A little distance from the train station, there are large supermarkets and restaurants around, there are buses directly to the Kuroshio market, and there is a washing machine on the first floor. The room is more old and can hear the radio 📻 It is really rare. The hotel provides hot water machine coffee tea and other self-collection. Still good.
1106969****The transportation of the hotel is quite convenient. It is not far from Kimitsuji Station. The hotel is mainly used by local passers-by and local Japanese to take a bath in the hot springs. There are not many foreign tourists. The hotel must be very old and looks a little old. The breakfast and dinner are not purely Japanese. It is very rich, but the price is not high. The hot springs are still very good. There is one indoor and one outdoor. Mainly locals go to the hot springs. The temple next to it is also a good attraction. It is worth experiencing the hot springs for leisure because the prices are not high. It's also relatively quiet.
Facilities: Average, hot springs are OK
Health: Very good
Environment: not prosperous
Service: Very good
SShengziEven in a single room, you can spend enough space and afford it.
At night, there was no lighting around and it was pitch black and the entrance to the parking lot was difficult to understand, so I repeated U-turns on the front road three times ...
NNIKO KIt is a room with outstanding cospa for one night in the Japanese room on the third floor.
Because of the railroad crossing next door, you can hear the sound of the train passing even if you close the window.
夢夢想是環遊世界The hotel owner's service is generally the same, a little impatient, obviously the phone number registered on the self-check-in machine is not my phone number, I have not registered, I don't know what's going on, the boss said that this is a very serious problem. In addition, I wanted to cancel the reservation because of my stomach pain, but because the order is not cancelled and refunded, even if the platform communicated with the boss, the boss still resolutely refused, so I felt a little bad, I could only go there on the same day to check in
Facilities: There is a bathtub, there are few places, the bed frame is wooden, the mattress is clean, there are small lights and small fans on the side of the bed, and the fan connection can be used as USB charging. There are two tables in the living room, wash basins, wash basins for combing, disposable toothbrushes, lockers, boiled water you can boil hot water yourself. The environment is 10 points clean, and there are not many people when I checked in. There are only two or three people in 10 beds.
