"This was a prepaid 2 night stay. After checking in we left our room to explore the area. There was a Morrison's cafe in a shopping precinct behind the hotel which was good for breakfast / meals etc. There is a wash and dry clothes facility there. The prom area is nice and tidy, and this is about as good as it gets with this hotel. We went to bed at about midnight. There were groups of youths on scooters and in cars revving and causing a disturbance right near the hotel. We ( like every other room we noticed ) had to have the windows open as it was incredibly hot, smelly and stuffy. We were later woken up at 4:45am by a large delivery lorry which was reversing under our open window. The lorry parked up and proceeded to make 6 trips to the premises opposite the hotel, using a metal sack barrow. He finally left about 15 - 20 mins later. Every time we or any other guests made a noise, it alerted a dog on the same corridor which proceeded to bark repeatedly. The mattress was incredibly hard so I stripped the bed to see if there were any springs poking through and was absolutely mortified to see numerous urine stains and blood stains on the mattress. I flipped it over to see more urine stains, 2 of which must have been still wet when the mattress was last flipped as these stains had matching navy blue transfer dye from the bed base. There were small piles of dead skin cells on the bed base. The quilted mattress protector had stains on it, and there were several long black hairs stuck to a lump of something, and numerous ***** hairs embedded in the bedding. I complained to reception, at around 7:45am saying I wanted a full refund as we would not be staying our second night. I was told as this was not a " flexi booking " I would not be able to have a refund. I explained that this was not a case of changing my mind, and I asked her to come to the room and see for herself. She took pictures of the bedding. She said I could not speak to the manager as he was unavailable until 9am. ( The manager told me he had actually stayed on site that night ) We packed our belonging and left, but returned at 9am as arranged. After being made to wait while the manager dropped his 3 children off at different schools, we were offered another room. I declined. We were then offered an E voucher, I declined and said I wanted a full refund. The manager deduced the stains were coffee spill stains, I invited him to go up to the room and smell the mattress. He reviewed the images provided by reception staff and agreed to a full refund. I had to stand my ground and demand it in writing which he eventually did stating head office will be in touch. It has been 3 days now and no word. I will be initiating a chargeback via my credit card provider in due course. We will never stay in a Travelodge again."

"A lot of people think this hotel is terrible, but I think it is a hidden gem. The staff came across and friendly, kind, and unagressive. My experience in check in and check out was nice, the reception was extremely kind, and understandable! The hotel was very convenient, only a short walks away from most areas in Wallasey. The atmosphere in my room was compact but comfy, and other guests were silent and kind. The hotels cleanliness was spotless, not a singular pest, or stain. The lobby attitude was like a warm, social space where you can reach out and talk. The cleanliness and kindness made the value really really good. Spotless. The bathroom was high quality. The view showed the Wallasey urban life, making a representative of Wallasey's growth. They also offered extra towels, and extra bedding. I would recommend."

"It is generally a beautiful hotel, but there is nothing near the mountains but we can say that the main feature near the port is a place to listen to that head."

"Fourth time stayed here always go out their way to make sure everything is OK. Lovely room and nice touch with cereal fresh bread jams butter milk tea coffee left for us. My daughter came this time with me snd very impressed with it all. Will always stay here when come to visit family. What made it even better was having a bath"

"What a find. This hotel is perfect. Rooms are a good size. Beds very comfy, and pillows are great too. Breakfast is possibly one of the best we have had. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and very accommodating. The range of beers in the bar is really good to. Finally, the location of this hotel is brill. Situated at the end of the High Street, which is a bustling hub of restaurants, bars and shops, and a leisurely 10 minutes walk to the sea, beach, activities ans yes, more bars and restaurants. Well done team."
