This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Warrington North East and once again got a really good night's sleep. Wanted a buffet style breakfast which is not available at this location. However, Michelle on reception advised that the other Premier Inn a few minutes down the road did offer this, Michelle kindly provided the phone number for the restaurant so we were able to book our breakfast for the morning.

Lovely location of this premier inn, friendly and welcoming lady on our arrival very helpful and on leaving a gentleman asked how our evening out was which was very pleasant. A comfortable bed and decent sized tv. Restaurant nearby as usual, warm room up to date heating, very comfortable overnight stay.

There is a terrible smell of damp throughout the downstairs corridor and in room 18 ( I'm presuming that all ground floor rooms suffer from this smell) Bathroom shave light not working. One bedside light not working. Very dated room, and no plugs by the bed? In desperate need of an update.

A bit out of the way and it suddenly appears so if not using Maps etc you could miss the turning. Check-in was okay but the lady was unable to add breakfast and made it clear that this was my fault because I let her finalise my booking before asking for breakfast to be added. I said that I could pay cash. This was refused and a lengthy explanation of how the bookings get transferred to the pub next door ensued. I asked to sort it in the morning as I had just driven for five hours. I said that I would not leave in the morning without paying. She said it wasn’t her problem as she was flying to Tenerife in the morning, but she didn’t want to lumber her colleague because she couldn’t work the system either. The room was basic and clean. Bathroom likewise although no seal on the loo and some minor evidence of a previous guest. The bath is very deep sided with the shower over it so if you are not very agile this may not be for you. Towels etc all fine. The tv worked. The bed had enough pillows. A bit too hard for me but that’s subjective. The biggest gripe was a damp smell. The room has a small electric heater with a wall mounted thermostat. It said 18 degrees but the room felt damp and cold the smell lingered. I went to The Swan pub. Nice fire. Very busy. Food looked very chain but okay. Beer was well kept but tables and bar sticky. Bartender was aloof and unhelpful, especially since my iPad was covered in gunk from bar spillages. Don’t go for a night out wearing a nice jacket. A waiter stepped in and got me some wipes. I slept okay. Not great. Soundproofing is a 6/10. You can hear the guests upstairs walking about and placing cups. The tv next door was loud. I had breakfast at The Swan. Same hassle trying to pay for it. Same computer issues. Breakfast was okay. The host was very polite and friendly. She took time to explain where everything was. Orange juice was just dregs at 7am in an empty restaurant. Cold selection was fresh. Bread was nice. Full English was nicely cooked to order and well presented but ingredients were cheap - bargain basement sausages etc. I did finally pay my £9.99 for breakfast when I checked out. Overall cost: £52. Would I return? If just travelling up North to collect my daughter from Uni and needing somewhere cheap - yes. If travelling for leisure with my wife? I’d stay somewhere else.

Hotel not really up to date and not up to standard of the other two in Warrington, basic but clean ,however the pub which served a supposed premier class breakfast was abysmal.absolutely freezing(heating apparently broke) a few electric heaters on but the fire not lit on first morning and only warmed one table on second.had to eat with coats on! Breakfast barely warm when served( not self service) and freezing after minutes with room temperature.

Janet on reception was very friendly and professional. I requested additional towels and these were provided. I requested additional pillars these were also provided. The wI-fI worked perfectly. I would definitely stay there again. Cheers.

The Rooms are very dated and tired. Its an original Premier Inn not a refreshed one. Parking, pub next door and staff were excellent. WIFI and phone signal if your needing to work is terrible, WIFI didn't work throughout the hotel, system down.

Quiet location, friendly team, nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms clean, all you need for a quick stop over, would definately stay again if I am back in this area, usual good Premier Inn standards.

Tired premises, need a big refresh. Accommodation OK, but not worth the £77 price. Evening food at the Swan was OK. Breakfast was horrible: continental breakfast fell veru far short of the menu promise. Things were running out and staff were not replaving them. Virtually nothing suitable for diabetics, all sugar- laden fruit, juices, pastries and jams. Needs a rethink.
