Waternook Lakeside Accommodation

We stayed at the Great Barn on Ullswater for a week of R & R ( 19th July to 26th July 2024). A fantastic property situated in a quiet ,stunning location with views to die for and only the sound of nature for company. Everything is done to the highest standard. Each room is immaculate , well presented and furnished. The kitchen is modern and is very well equipped .There is everything here you could possibly need . A beautiful peaceful location with lots of lovely outside space to enjoy the magnificent surroundings. Direct access to the lake for our paddle board and canoe which was a big plus. We have stayed in the Lakes many times as a family, but this was on a different level. The Great Barn exceeded our expections in every way and was the perfect property for all three generations of our family. Plenty of different areas wiithin the living room. A mezzanine floor to chill in. A snug to look out over the lake. What more do you need . Our housekeeper , Amanda was on hand to check everyone was happy . Nothing was too much trouble. The welcome hamper was an very nice touch. Dominic went that extra mile to make our stay even better which was much appreciated. Our Grangaughter was in tears on the day we had to leave. That says it all. !! A simply stunning place . I would gladly recommend this place to anyone. We be will returning in the near future.

We had a brilliant stay here for a birthday celebration. The house is AMAZING, very special. The staff also were very helpful and made sure we had what we needed. The view is outstanding. We would definitely recommend coming here . The location is ideal for walks and mountain climbing

A fabulous property in the most stunning location. Everything is done to the highest standard. The lovely housekeeper calls to check everyone is happy and nothing is too much trouble. The welcome hamper is an incredibly nice touch. We have been several times and Waternook still has the WOW factor. Each room is immaculate and the beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in! A beautiful peaceful location with lots of lovely outside space to enjoy the magnificent surroundings.

The Great Barn is a wonderful stylish property with direct access to the lake and stunning views. The concierge service helped us to organise a chef (the wonderful Peter Sidwell) for a celebration gathering & were helpful throughout. You can bag your Wainwrights right from the door - they are all around you - and there is a fantastic water sports centre 10 mins down the road - Ullswater WakeNSurf - where you can Wake Surf or hire paddle boards. We’ll definitely be back.

Superb accommodation. Everything done to the highest possible standard. We feel a sense of peace and tranquillity as soon as we walk through the door. There is everything here you could possibly need. Bedding and towels are excellent. Kitchen well equipped. All this and views to die for!

Our stay at Waternook on Ullswater (5th-12th August), was simply marvellous. The house was lovely; tastefully decorated and spacious, and catered for all our needs. The cinema room was also a big hit with our youngsters! The setting of the house is absolutely breathtaking offering up views that one could never tire of. Our family really enjoyed water sporting in the Lake; swimming, paddle boarding and using a dinghy it was just wonderful to have this facility right on our doorstep! We came together as a family to celebrate a golden year and the beautiful Waternook on Ullswater has left us with some truly magical memories. Dee & Geoff and family
