I was at pepper trails this week for one night stay en route to Bangalore. I was looking for place close to Sultan Bathery, Bangalore Bandipur route yet a calm place and stumbled up on this property. Since it’s Monday it was easy to get and I had no plans to roam around wayanad during my stay. I stayed in ancient bungalow, first floor with nice glass windows and interiors with traditional old antique Kerala pieces, from chair, bed to switches. I loved the lighting both natural and electrically lit. Infinity pool was open and bit away from bungalow, but neatly maintained. My little one enjoyed it well. We had pool side coffee with Robusta bean packed filter coffee ( which I was told from the estate itself) and it was complimentary. Restaurant menu options are not wide but they have some options for a night choice. Chappathi was well made, others felt like average to me. Honey chilli chicken was deeply fried and not juicy. It was almost not having any feel of chicken, please take it as positive feedback to improve guest dine-in experience. Dining area is near to reception and room service were quick whether it be for housekeeping or restaurant. I don’t think they have a fancy setup mostly it’s one team, no buggies , no electronic locking etc. but peace and calmness is guaranteed. Only thing will break silence is the sounds of plenty of birds in the morning and some cicadas of western ghats which can produce extreme noise. I could spot Indian Grey hornbill on a tree near reception itself. There are other accommodation like a tree house and might give different experience all together. The Gypsy ride through plantation was one major activity, and is okay. Breakfast is set menu where you could choose. Being from Kerala born and brought a neighboring district in village environment, for me breakfast ok experience. Loved the calm hygiene and well maintained property. Mr Yadu and team took good care of us. Thank you!!
