"Amazing place! I contacted the owner on WeChat before I arrived and he helped me get there with public transportation. The hotel provided me with free transportation to the Golden Monkey Park and back, and helped me book a cheap minivan when I missed my bus. Highly recommend!"

"Service: Very welcoming, and the hostess's cooking is delicious. We had dinner there both days, and the cost for five adults and one child was under 250 yuan. The grandmother was also very kind and talkative. She immediately reminded me of my own grandmother. Environment: We stayed in a standard room, which was excellent value. Apart from the mattress being a little firm, everything else was excellent. The bathroom was spacious and bright, with consistent hot water. During the rainy season, the river behind the B&B can flow quite strongly, making the cabins a bit noisy throughout the night. This is why I didn't book a comfort room. During the off-season, I recommend staying in a cabin, which faces the river and courtyard and should be very relaxing. There's a path nearby that leads to the river, and my family's elderly and children loved this rural setting. Access to the Yunnan Golden Monkey Park is very convenient; it's just uphill from one intersection. In the afternoon, you can visit Bodhidharma Cave, a local temple, not a tourist attraction."

"Good sized room, with complementary tea and water. I had dinner downstairs and it was great value. I completely over ordered but they packed it up for me which was great Stayed there to try and see the Yunnan Snub Nosed Monkeys. Sadly I found out that the park was closed because of landslides. Nothing the hotel could have done about it, and they were helpful in arranging a bus back to Shangri-La once I'd found out. No English was spoken, but they would help me through my translate app where I asked them."

"I had been out for many days and wanted to find a quiet place to rest for two days, so I saw this newly opened B&B online and booked it for two nights. When I arrived, I found that the B&B had a good environment, with many fruit trees planted around it, and the fresh air made me feel relaxed. The room faced the valley, and below was a golden rice terrace. Any photos you took were pastoral scenery. You can also book their own local chickens and organic vegetables with the owner in advance, so you can eat them with confidence and deliciously."

"We had a great stay at this family-fun guesthouse (we are a family of three, travelling with a 3-year-old). The owners were super-friendly and very generous - they offered us complimentary fruit, including watermelon from their own field behind, wild honey, and even cooked some wild mushrooms that we had picked in the woods for us (after double-checking that they were edible!) The guestrooms are clean, light, comfortable and spacious - and there is air conditioning available in case it's slightly warmer in the summer months. The mattresses were also fairly comfortable. The location is great - next to a river, about a 10-minute drive up from Tacheng Town. This makes getting to the monkey reserve and Damozushi Temple (the main attractions) more convenient. On the food side, the breakfast was hearty to the extreme and varied from day to day, with various local specialties including local Tibetan Yak Butter Tea. Pretty much everything was homemade. You can also eat there in the evenings to avoid driving to town - and the lady that runs it is a great cook. Other pros include the lovely decking by the river and the walkway that the village has developed along the river bank - perfect for a morning/evening stroll, or in our case, taking our little one for a spin on her balance bike. We live in Lijiang, so not too far away - and will definitely be coming back to stay here again. 这次我们带着三岁的小宝贝，全家三口人在这家很有家庭味的客栈住得特别开心。老板夫妻特别热情大方，请我们吃自家地里种的西瓜、野蜂蜜，还帮我们把在山里采的野生菌烹调好（还贴心地先确认能不能吃），味道真是一绝！房间干净明亮，宽敞舒适，夏天稍热的时候还有空调可用，床垫也挺舒服的，睡得很踏实。位置很好，就在河边，离塔城镇开车大概十分钟。去猴子保护区和达摩祖师庙这些景点都很方便。早餐丰盛得不得了，而且天天不重样，还有不少当地特色，比如藏族的酥油茶，基本都是自家做的。晚餐也可以直接在客栈吃，省得开车去镇上，老板娘手艺没得说。另外，河边的露台和村里沿河修的栈道都很美，早晚散步很舒服，我们还带着孩子在那儿骑平衡车，玩得不亦乐乎。我们平时生活在丽江，离这里不算远，以后一定会再来！"
