The surrounding area is quiet, in a forested area and is nestled towards the end of a road at the top of a windy hill. Upon arrival, you'll be able to pull into a private 4 car driveway and breath in the fresh mountain air. Inside, you'll be welcomed by a beautiful view, vaulted ceilings and an open concept dining, sitting and kitchen area. On the first floor, you'll get to enjoy a covered patio with a grill, the main (king) bedroom, full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen and living space. The bottom floor includes 3 bedrooms (x2 queen and x1 with a bunkbed), laundry room, full bathroom and access to the bottom deck from two of the bedrooms.We are delighted to open our home to dogs (only) and have provided a large crate (42in x 31in x 27in), large dog bed and dog bowls for your use.For those who like to stay active, you'll have access to yoga blocks, 8lbs dumbbells and indoor spin bike. The exterior of the house is enclosed with a 6 foot fence, perfect for the fur friends who are jumpers. At the entrance, you'll have a quiet place to enjoy a beverage, but the majority of the area is mostly suitable for canines to explore. The house is heated with electric heat (walls) with thermostats in every room. Plenty of cozy blankets and pillows will make you feel right at home.One level living is perfect for all generations from young to "mature"! The primary bedroom is large with a slider that accesses the deck and private en suite bathroom. Bedroom arrangements allow for 10 people in traditional beds (1 king, 2 queens, 1 bunk bed with full below and twin on top, 1 twin trundle best for a child or smaller adult) however we will consider 11 people if you choose to use the pack n' play or inflatable queen mattress provided. Due to Clackamas County STR restrictions a 11 person limit will be strictly enforced and violations could result in penalties. Parties/events are not allowed.Enjoy the warmth that the onsite sauna provides at the house but you also have access to the Mt. Hood Oregon Resorts year round heated pool and hot tub that is just minutes down the road. As a guest of The Warming Hut you will be able to access these resort facilities during your stay free of charge as well as tennis, basketball courts, exercise room, playground and putting green. You must check in at the main lobby and show your reservation confirmation to get your free pass.Location is key and you will find yourself able to walk the many paths that lead around the golf course and find yourself catching glimpses of the beautiful Salmon River along the way. Hood has to offer like skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, water activities, biking, golf, local shops and food. This home is still private enough to have a relaxing vacation. The vaulted great room has a floor-to-ceiling wall of windows and the best view of the woods with the river peaking through. The main floor features an open concept design that is ideal for hanging out that everyone can enjoy while making meals at the end of the day. Gas fireplace, flat screen television with cable, ROKU and wifi will meet everyones needs. The modern kitchen features granite countertops, custom cabinets, and a fully outfitted kitchen. Large french press, pour over, and conventional coffee makers included along with large 4 griddle waffle maker. There is seating for 6-8 at the dining room table and an additional 6 barstools at the kitchen island.The 1st bedroom is very private and relaxing with a queen bed and is situated on the main floor right next to the beautifully tiled downstairs bathroom. The 2nd extremely large master bedroom is located upstairs with a beautiful Cal King Bed from The Joinery and a sitting area with views of the beautiful Alder and Fir Trees. The 3rd bedroom is also upstairs, albeit unconventional, with four individual full sized beds installed in cozy custom built nooks - each with their own small shelf, lighting, and electrical outlets. Kids love this room and because the beds are full, they can also work well for adults. It is at the top of the stairs of the 2nd floor and considered a shared space for all 4 bunks - It's ideal for folks looking for a relaxed, fun, shared experience with family and friends. This "bunk" room also has a TV with Roku and a comfy couch for those looking to relax out of the main space. It's the perfect spot for the kids while adults are socializing downstairs. There is another generously sized spa like bathroom on the second floor for the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms.Large glass doors from the main living area open up onto a 600 sq. foot Iron wood deck furnished with lounge chairs and Adirondack furniture. From here you can take in the beauty of your private view of the gardens and the forest as your backdrop. There is a brand new Weber BBQ to use. A short walk from the deck will take you to a classic old school steel fire pit like you would find at a campground. We provide one bundle of firewood for use during your stay- you can easily get more from the grocery just 5 minutes away. Please observe all Forest Service rules regarding campfires. There is a hose bib near by for making sure your fire is out when you are done enjoying it!Take a walk through meditation gardens and enjoy the raised garden beds beds and help your self to fresh herbs from the herb wall in summer! The LandHummingbird Lodge is situated on forested land filled with rhododendron, ferns, lupine, and berry bushes. During the warmer months, hammocks and Adirondack chairs let you enjoy the beauty of the land comfortably. Or soak in the hot tub as you watch the bluebirds, hummingbirds, and squirrels play in the cedars and Douglas firs. Our youngest guests enjoy searching for fairies in the woods, building forts, and taking nature walks, all within our fenced 10 acre property. Let them wander without concern, and then call them back with the dinner bell. The deck, newly built in August 2017, includes a spacious dining table and umbrella, as well as a new Char Broil gas grill. *We just started an Instagram account to share some more visuals about the property and surrounding activities! Share your meal at the custom-built, live edge dining table, lovingly crafted by the homeowners. The living room includes a new television and a selection of DVDs to suit the whole family. We just installed internet in February 2021 and haven't gotten streaming services going yet. (Will update this listing when that changes.)Downstairs, just past the living room and kitchen, you'll find a queen bedroom across the hall from the bunkroom. The bunkroom includes a twin-over-full bunkbed plus a separate twin; it sleeps four. These two rooms share the full bathroom downstairs. Upstairs, you'll discover a loft with books and games for children and adults, plus a cozy chair for reading. Pass a full bathroom on your way to the very large master bedroom, with windows looking out over dense forest and rhododendron bushes. This room includes a king-sized bed and a lounge chair, which unfolds into a twin sized sleeper. We keep bedding for the lounger in the master closet. While this provides a ninth sleeping space, we don't include it in the count, as we recommend it just for children. (Our six-year-old finds it extremely comfortable.) A desk, comfortable chair, and desk lamp occupy a corner of the master bedroom for those who choose to work from Hummingbird Lodge. Then retreat to ultimate privacy at Hummingbird Lodge. Depending on the time of year you visit, some of Oregon's best hikes are just a few minutes up the road. (We love Ramona Falls and Burnt Lake, and dozens of other destinations await.) Or pile into the car for a 15-20 minute drive to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and Timberline (which we recommend to the non-skiers too year round.) Fishing, swimming, golf, rafting, and world-class rock climbing at French's Dome are all a short distance away. And most importantly for many of us, we always provide coffee for our guests.*Our Property Fee per night covers Clackamas County lodging taxes.
