If you're considering booking this hotel, be sure to confirm which room and wing you'll be staying in before making a reservation. The hotel has recently opened another section called "Wing B," which houses older, substandard rooms. These rooms are far from the quality you'd expect—they feature outdated furniture, a toilet fan window that isn’t tinted (allowing people to see inside at night), and an overall unkempt condition. The most disappointing aspect was that the general manager, Mr. Manoj, failed to inform us that our rooms were in this older wing. We were charged the same rate as the newer rooms, a fact we only discovered after check-in. When we raised this issue and requested a partial refund, we were met with unprofessional and dismissive behavior from the manager. His approach to addressing our concerns was both rude and unhelpful. After some back and forth, we were granted a partial refund.However, this doesn’t change the fact that the rooms in the old wing don’t justify their price. Our room smelled unpleasant, and the bathroom window overlooked other rooms and a staircase, completely compromising our privacy. It’s frustrating to feel scammed and let down by the management’s lack of transparency and poor handling of guest complaints. I would strongly advise future guests to proceed with caution and ensure clarity about what you’re paying for. This experience was disappointing, to say the least.

Staying at this hotel was a weird experience- I would definitely not recommend it. First, the linens were stained and there was a roach in my room. The breakfast buffet was really limited and the fruit wasn’t fresh. Overall the staff smile a lot and were kind but I did have a very bad experience with the manager. He was rude. I travel a lot and hotel staff at other places I’ve stayed have always been helpful with local transportation. Unfortunately this service is not available at this hotel. This hotel has potential but is not worth the money.

Nice place, nice people. Right by the sea. Good breakfast. Room was large, clean and comfortable with a lovely sea view. Not too many rooms so did not feel crowded by the pool. Selection of cocktails available. Overall a good experience, would stay again.

Twenty Two Weligambay feels like our second home. Whenever we get the chance, we pack up and head to this beautiful, charming place to relax. It's located right on the famous Weligama Bay, a top spot for surfing, with a massive beach stretch. Our kids love jumping from the room to the pool and then to the beautiful beach. Walking along the shallow beach for meters is a fun activity for all of us. Our last visit was in March 2024 with my family to celebrate my birthday. The property is managed by a good old friend of ours, and the staff is outstanding, offering great hospitality. The food is always amazing. Plus, there are plenty of options just a few meters away to find pubs and restaurants. We love this place and recommend it to anyone who loves the beach and wants to chill in a charming atmosphere.

Beautiful location by the ocean. Our room was kindly upgraded to ocean view and it was the best hotel view I’ve seen for a long time. I believe the windows have been built extra large to let in the view. The room also had a balcony. Nice and clean and very convenient. Higiene could be better around the pool area (sunbeds and towels). The big surprise was dinner, as the order was taken on check-in and it was cooked to order at the preferred time. It was by far the best meal we’ve had in Sri Lanka this week: Best chef-prepared food Best table service Best room view Nice staff, young people being trained. Recommended!
