Facilities are new. House kept clean. Will definitely be back again. Only downside no free parking.

I have fallen in love with this hostel. It was very clean & conveniently located in the centre of this New Zealand 🇳🇿 capital. Receptionist were accommodating & approachable.

Worst Haka House I stayed. I booked a 2 bed dorms and as soon as I entered I felt sick from the dust and dirt. Went back to the reception to ask for help and I was literally undermined in front of all the other guests to then heard that the room has been properly cleaned because the other guest has stayed there long time. Absurd!

There's a supermarket right in front of the hotel, so it's very convenient. The room was mixed-gender, but the toilet and shower room were separate, which was nice. The staff were also very kind. I recommend it.

I have stayed at Haka House in other places, but this one's location was outstanding. It was close to Te Papa Museum, and I was able to walk to Cuba Street, which is lined with delicious restaurants, without getting tired. I asked the receptionist if I wanted to change from the top bunk to the bottom bunk, and they kindly made the arrangements for me, which was nice. However, the facility itself was neither good nor bad. Depending on the floor you stay on, body soap was not provided, and the toilet was noticeably dirty in the morning, afternoon, and evening, which I think is largely due to the influence of other guests, so I refrained from using the bathroom until the toilet was cleaned as much as possible. I couldn't say that I slept well during my stay, as there were reddish-brown stains on the bed and pillow, and when I woke up in the morning, I had tick bite marks somewhere on my body. The kitchen was just average, as I only used the microwave. Overall, I would say it was a little better than average.

The hotel has complete facilities and a very convenient location. It is opposite NEW WORLD, where you can get breakfast or cooking materials. It is just a few steps away from Waterfront, where you can check in at the classic Wellington landmark. Oriental Bay is also within walking distance, so it is also very convenient to go to the weekend seaside market. It is backed by a bar street and has a rich nightlife. Overall, it is a good place to stay and experience life in Wellington.

The hotel is near Te Papa Museum; there is a large supermarket opposite; there is a large farm market on Sunday morning; it is close to the seaside pier; it can be reached on foot; the room is clean; recommended.
