"Beautiful hotel with very good location and very friendly staff"

"The room was tidy. At 9:30 p.m. (on a Sunday) there was nobody at the reception. They left me an envelope with my key card. It took me a while to find out that my room was not in the main house, but two houses farther east. That wouldn´t matter, if anyone had given me notice on that. If you want any drinks, nothing is avaible but a bottle of still water. There is no bar, no vending machine, no minibar, the restaurant at the train station closes at 9:30.... You´re restricted to the plain water."

"This hotel is a must-stay for business trips in Wales. It has a rich breakfast and 24-hour front desk service. The pedestrian street in the city center is just outside the door."

Where things fall apart is in the details, making all the difference between a good hotel and a mediocre one: - breakfast at 8 am, not before (you have to give 48 hours' notice if you want to have breakfast earlier - yes, you read that right). - comfortable bed but no sheets (just a mattress protector and a duvet). This may be the local custom, but it's unacceptable for the price paid and the hotel's category. - you pay upon arrival, not upon departure. - cancellation is impossible less than two days before arrival (non-negotiable despite explaining that I arrived later than planned by private plane due to bad weather). In short, even though the staff is attentive and the room is adequate, this hotel leaves me with a "pay first" feeling, and it won't leave a lasting impression."

"A transit point chosen while going from Vienna to Hallstatt.. I chose a residence-type accommodation with a washing machine to wash clothes during a long trip, but there was no washing machine in the room, and there was one small washing machine and one dryer in the laundry room. Fortunately, we were the only guests, so we had no trouble doing laundry, but we had a hard time because we didn't know how to use the washing machine in German. Maybe because we were not familiar with it, the washing and drying time was unusually long. There was a single-burner electric range, simple cooking utensils, dishes, and cutlery in the sink in the room, and although there was a terrace, it was only divided into sections with wooden bales, so it was like bringing iron chairs and tables to the road.. The neighborhood was quiet, there were many marts around, and there was a gas station and bank (travel blog fee) right across the street from the hotel, and there was a free parking lot in the basement, so it was convenient. Since it was an unmanned system, check-in and check-out were done by machine, and it was difficult to get help because there were no staff members.."

"This hotel is nowhere near a 4-star hotel, 3 at the most. The decor was something out of the 1980s! Heavy, dark curtains, dark carpets, old, low beds that were nowhere near up to standard. The neighbors could hear everything that happened in our room. The street noise was incredibly loud. The TV was ancient and tiny, the refrigerator was empty and didn't even contain a single bottle of water. The reception staff were unable to give us three small bottles of sparkling wine. At breakfast, the eggs were horribly tasteless, we should have made the crepes and omelets ourselves, the filter coffee was clear, the coffee machine only made tiny cups, and the staff didn't greet us at breakfast or ask if we needed anything. The table wasn't cleared until we had finished eating, and the selection was very limited. The stairs for wheelchair users were far too steep. In the evening, when we went out for dinner, we were offered a table in a strange room reminiscent of an old country inn. The staff didn't understand a word of German. For this price, we had expected a nice, modern dining room! Since we travel a lot and know exactly what 4-star hotels should be like, this ancient city hotel, which hadn't been renovated in years, was very disappointing. On the positive side, we did notice the freshly squeezed juices, the homemade jams, the fresh bread rolls, the pleasant breakfast room, and the polite ladies at reception."
