The Royal Oak Hotel, Welshpool - the Coaching Inn Group
"It is a nice hotel ,good location and good food.comfortable bed and good facilities in the bedroom."
The Granary
The Lion Hotel
"Thought we’d book this little hotel as attending an event in Newtown close by. The decor is unusual with its bold colours which you wouldn’t know from the olde world charm of the outside. It’s set in the heart of a quaint little village in mid Wales. The food was delicious, though only one vegetarian main on the menu, so my OH had rissotto both nights. I’m pescatarian so had more choice. The rooms were spacious enough with adequate ensuite. Little niggle with the church digital bells waking OH up at 5am. I didn’t hear them, but perhaps booking a room on the other side they may not be heard. This wouldn’t put us off staying again though. It’s handy as a stop over to south Wales too. Do not book via Air BnB though. Ring the hotel direct. The details on Air BnB do not correspond with what we actually received. It is not self contained with a small kitchen as stated. They are hotel rooms and serve bed, breakfast and dinner. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere, if you don’t mind people in the bar singing along to the guy with a guitar who was there on the Sunday night (it was May B/H weekend), I don’t know if this is a regular occurrence."
The Talbot Hotel
"Nice hotel in a lovely location Tasty food at the bar and a decent breakfast."
