Me and my boyfriend stayed at churchwood valley this past bank holiday weekend. We both absolutely loved it, we came all the way from Cambridge. Such a beautiful place to be feels like being abroad! The cabin was super clean and had everything you could think of! 10/10 will be back!

We returned for our third holiday and had a wonderful time once again. We don’t have a car - so we get a taxi from Plymouth and a supermarket delivery. And then we just slow down and enjoy being in the countryside. Our children love the woods and the beach and that’s all we need really :) Birdsong, rock pools, stars at night, a new experience for the little ones; horse riding. All lovely.

Just had a lovely, relaxing stay in Churchwood valley. The description of the valley and its seclusion is very accurate. No phone signal on EE and limited WiFi- definitely getting away from it all! We took our iPad so that we could enjoy cosy nights in watching our favourite shows. I have knocked a star off for the accommodation. When we first arrived we were given the cabin A1, which has 2 rooms and sleeps 6. This may sound excessive for 2 people but having stayed in quite a few cabins to date, we have learnt to size up! The first impression of the cabin was not good. There was a strong musty smell when we entered and overall the aesthetic was looking tired, and damaged in areas. The shower was also a small cubicle. This didn’t meet our expectations for our week away so we went and spoke with reception. Jo on reception was wonderful. She was very understanding and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We were very lucky (as off season) that there was another cabin available. It was much better! It was similar size but had a bath/shower and was more polished. The cabin was still very basic and has a musty smell- but was manageable. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location is great, you can get back to nature and enjoy some hikes, whilst also popping over to Plymouth for a fun day out. Would recommend for people looking to get away and who enjoy rustic accommodation.

This is the 2nd time we have been as a couple and forth time for me personally. Such a lovely time away together with our two pups. Time to switch off and really relax properly and I mean properly. Time to sit and take stock and balance the mind in such a tranquil setting and in comfort. Taking time to spend together and some fantastic early morning walks to be had too. Cabin was fantastic, clean, warm and has everything you need. We really enjoy it at Churchwood Valley, its such a healing place to be. We have already booked again for next year it suits us that much. 110% satisfied

Absolutely first class stay in what I can only describe as a jewel, a sanctuary so peaceful. Jo in the office was super super helpful and the owner very pleasant - let us stay a bit longer before we caught the Ferry. Really lovely park, a gem hidden in the Devonshire countryside. Thank you for a peaceful and utterly delightful stay, albeit short.

We are ex-locals and needed somewhere to stay with the dog and two teenagers, near Plymouth, to attend the university opened day. Churchwood couldn’t have been a better option for us, cosy, warm, clean cabin, 5 minute walk to Wembury beach, and 15 min drive into Plymouth. We took it in turns to visit the uni with the eldest / take the dog and youngest to the beach!. It worked perfectly for us. We ate twice at the Old Mill Cafe at the beach, and picked up fish & chips from nearby Plymstock, again a short drive away. Yes the local roads are narrow and often single track, but it’s rural Devon, just slow down a bit! We already knew how to find the cabins from Wembury village, but the directions via Staddiscombe were easy to follow and Churchwood was well signposted. We absolutely loved the peacefulness of the cabins, we could hear owls and the sea at night, we had such a lovely weekend, we’re hoping to book again!

The compact cabin was at the back in the mature trees. It was very peaceful and relaxing. It was almost like floating in the air. The cabin was very clean and functional. If you want a beautiful quiet valley a ten min walks from a stunning beach then this is the place. We loved it. Even the greedy squirrel that ate all the bird food.
